I may try to make a photoshoot session next week. Could be fun with my white Mele.

this precisely because the perfect iem can’t exist (we all have different personal tastes) that iems should be low tech moddable out of the box like smabat proto 1.0 so we can adjust it to our individual signature preferences (which, like all our perceptions, evolve over time by the way)

Those issues with filters are regarding Mele, not Olina.

I prefer the double dampener on nozzle by a bit, but I love stock, as you can see on my full review. My reviews are always stock.

This is why I was against sharing “mods” to Olina so soon before people even tried it. People are focusing on the white noise and not on the music.

Olina stock is a freaking beast, let alone for 100. A lot of people prefer it stock. Always try stuff with your ears and not your eyes, looking at posts and graphs.

Reported in this thread that it is also an Olina issue (if this can be taken to be the same issue).

Sadly, I have heard from another owner of the Olina that the channel imbalance issue persists, although they said it was due to liquid ear wax buildup on the filter. He said the problem was resolved when the nozzle filter was replaced with the Oxygen filter and not with the stock Olina ones

BIG KRIT :notes: :musical_note:

This is my opinion about the Olina mods, in case it helps: if you listen with a low-medium volume leave it stock, if you prefer medium-high volume then double filter on nozzle, if you prefer a more V-shaped then filter in the vent hole. For my taste, double nozzle filter.

double filter mod has way too much bass for me i returned to stock olina, it is fun to experiment as long as mod are reversible

Handed to the local carrier. As someone hovering in the budget segment, i like to see how different a more high quality set would measure up. Hyped!!

The extra filter changes the way the driver behaves, through resistance right? For me it’s a much more balanced , believable tuning
for my library.
I didn’t know there was an issue between Linsoul and HBB, but this is quite a problem if the same iem is presented with different tunings, it would be hard to get on the same page.

Ooooh interesting - drivers or tunings or possibly both? Did you get this info from the OEM or from Tanchjim?

OEM
Reviewers have suspected it due to different graphing but it’s not my business to get into the OEM weeds beyond confirming the drivers bought were the same as originals.

All versions have been CNT

Thanks a lot for clarifying! Jeff (Detailed, up close look at the Trippowin Olena drivers. Are they real CNT? DLC? - YouTube) has independently confirmed that the Olina has CNT DD that at least looks extremely similar to the O2 CNT DD. Not saying that I was suspicious - it’s always good to get independent confirmation.

I have also posted about different O2 graphs on HifiGuides and on Head-fi. I bought my O2 in Nov 2021 and can confirm it has more bass than stock Olina.
