Tried the dual damper modâŠâŠer nope! Not for me.
Back to original HBB mod or stock.
Iâve have a few iems in and around this price bracket (urban fun,. ThieAudio, TinHifi) but these really show all of them a clean pair of heels by some margin.
The perfect round out to my troika of sets and a great end to my iem journey.
Olina, Timeless, Monarch Mkii⊠couldnât be happier.
Time for L700/SRM400S
I also did not like the Short Bus mod; I could feel the bass in my SOUL, but it was too much for this set IMO. The wonderful thing is that itâs completely reversible and costs nothing to try! I still have nothing but praise for these Olinas! Iâm running them stock with Azla Crystal tips, and even though I have my MEST mk II and EJ07m at hand, these arenât going anywhere anytime soon!
Thanks man. I also prefer stock.
Most of the folks who got it love it.
If folks wanna mod to suit their own taste to a âTâ then they bought it. They can do what they like.
$100 buys you a TOTL set in DD realm.
I almost hate how flexible this IEM is haha. Whenever someone comes up with a new idea Iâm like âwell it already sounds awesome but maybe that will sound awesome!!â. I think I have setting on the vent mesh mod though. Gives just enough bass to kick for my liking without affecting the whole FR and also doesnât make me feel like my ear is about to pop.
Now Iâm back to tip rolling! The fun never stops
When some user has tried to modify the sound of the IEM they have, the sign is that the basic tuning of the IEM still do not fully ideal for their taste. Actually every brand could make a product with a basic sound frequency tuning that is really close to perfect, but this is not a good thing to do because manufacturers will find it difficult to bring out the next product by presenting a âbetter sound tuningâ as a selling point. An example is BLON as an entry level brand. Many think that the basic tuning on BLON 03 is the best compared to the next generation like BLON 01, 05, BL Max, or 07. If the basic tuning on Olina is made very accurate and has minimal flaws from users, the consumer interest will decrease for the next tripowin product because they are very satisfied with what has been given by the previous generation.
I disagree with this generalization, especially for IEMs. No one IEM or headphone will be perfect for every usecase and no product will come off the rack fitting everyone so modifying something slightly really just means it didnât fit that person 100%. Iâm a tinkerer so while I would have been 100% happy with stock Olina I actually like experimenting. Some changes work, some donât but at least at the end of the day I know Iâm not missing anything.
I think everyone tip or cable rolls so based on your statement it would seem no headphone works out of the box for anyone. I donât think there is some conspiracy to not make good headphones so that companies can push better future versions
The Dual Damper Mod is my preferred tuning so far. Increased bass and slightly tamed upper mids/treble. I definitely prefer the Olina over my T3 Plus.
We all hear the way we hear. I came online to list my Olina but after checking the thread this am and applying the double damper- means she stays, for now.
Thereâs a small percentage of my library that Olina sounds pretty great stock. The mod flipped the percentage, what was bad, is good, what was good now is not as. Knocking down 5kz - yes please!
Interesting for me, a lot of my library looks like HBBs, so yeah, we hear the way we hear. Olina now sounds how I thought Melee would, perhaps with a touch less bass. Need to revisit damping on that one.
Another review of the unmodded Olina including a comparison between the Oxygen:
Everything updated
Interestingly enough, and if the info from the graphs is sufficiently precise to make this bold claim, the dual damper mod makes the Olina sound like HBB had originally intended to before he had an argument with the people from Linsoul, assuming that his second O2 set is one of the bassier ones from the latest batches. I donât think heâs graphed the Oxygen he bought last year, has he?
Not trying to start anything here, Iâm genuinly curious as to why sticking one extra filter to the nozzle makes the Olina sound almost exactly the same as the O2, aside from the treble area. Could be a mere coincidence, though.
Either way, Iâm really enjoying my new DDs.
Both are âDream Onâ Lyrics
I got impatient with my order too. I was hoping to get an extra for my brother but apparently you can order express shipping and they can still take over a week just to send it out. At least fulfill the order guys jeez.
If the order is not fulfilled then you can ask for a cancellation/refund. And thatâs what I did. Hope we can get it on Amazon when hype settle down. Hope heâs ok with the Tanchjim Ola for now lol I have that one coming in soon.
Yeah, I got a response on discord. Should be fine. Itâs less impatience with me and more a feeling of being a little burnt on chi-fi. The reports of ongoing issues with the filters as well as all the stuff about mods doesnât line up with my expectation of buying a product and it working out of the box without issues for at least some reasonable amount of time. I may revisit them in the future, but I no longer have confidence in being an early adopter.
Im sad to hear there are issues with some but I love mine and I have enough confidence to get another. itâs just the whole thing about it being express shipping and not even being sent out. They told me recently âwe may send it next weekâ
âMayâ
âNext weekâ
lol nah
do you personally enjoy olina more stock or with dual filter mod ? (unlike HM that needed the bass mod because being too bright and lacking bass for my taste, olina is fine out of the box ( just a tad too agressive in bightness ), but i think i wonât resist long tinkering once i got past my brain burn in time with stock olina )
My precious has arrived this morning. Iâm so pumped!!
