đŸ”¶ Tripowin X HBB Olina

Hmm, Tripowin should really cover this under warranty, but their policy sucks. They will ask you to pay for shipping, and if they don’t find themselves to be at fault (assuming it even makes it to them), you’ll be charged for repair. It’s like a warranty only in wording and not in practise
so annoying. I feel sorry for @hawaiibadboy if more cases of Olina QC problems pop up - he’s done good for us just tuning and making the product available, but the brands are letting him down (cough KZ cough)

Where was this suggested? I would like to read more about it because I believe, for me, its not just water but a water/wax combination so when it drives in the filter it clogs it a bit. I have the filter that gave me issues before and if you shine a light through it you can see wax partially clogging the mesh

Tripowin could address the segment directly by selling a branded safe ear wax removal tool or a luxury ear health kit of sorts.

not sure about wax water mix as water don’t mix with oily fluids read a few pages back here or on headfi

Ive read every post on both threads so if someone did suggest that it wasn’t in detail with links to potential alternative filters :frowning:

Also, “water don’t mix with oily fluids” is an incorrect blanket statement as there are plenty of exceptions where they do mix but that doesn’t really matter here since saying “water” before was really just referring to sweat in your ear which is not the same as perspiration sweat on say, your arm. It is actually alcohol based which is probably why it evaporates quickly.

Comply offers a tip with what they call “Wax Guard” It’s basically an Acoustically transparent material in the end of the tip. It prevents wax or sweat from getting into the screens of your earbuds.
Hope this helps :call_me_hand:t2:

Ok, this seems to have gotten a little bit out of hand.
Has anyone here ever seen or owned the Aeon open or Closed back headphones? They are an excellent sounding Planar Magnetic set of headphones. The reason I ask this question is this. The Aeon comes with its own “Tuning Filters” so that the end user can Tune the Headphone to his or her personal preference.
The Olina comes with what are commonly referred to as “Tuning Filters” They exists to Tune Earphones. Using them to do that is not “Modding”
I keep seeing people saying it’s to bad that you have to “Mod” them to make them sound right. You are simply using the included Tuning Filters just like you would try different tips to get where you want to be.
The Olina is an Amazing set and the fact that they included a way for you to Tune them to your own personal taste just makes them an even better product.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled listening sessions

Ah yeah I saw the moondrop as well, I was hoping to be able to use those replacement filters but they dont have the right size for the Olina

So I got my Olina’s late last week, added the short bus mod and have been a/b’ing them with my Variations off of my brt5k. Not going to lie, for my playlist, they are damn close on songs, even on others, and even better on some than the variations. Incredible for the price, and in fact I’ll probably be returning the variations because for how close the olina’s are for everything in my playlist, they are also 7 trillion times more comfortable. At less than 1/5 of the price I’m floored.

On another subject, do you guys think the tea’s are worth trying/ would they be a clear upgrade to olina’s? I’ve settled on them as my dailies but want a set when I just sit back with some bourbon and set off into the musical mental sunset.

Definitely not a clear upgrade. Maybe a sidegrade? They’re pretty close. I believe @nymz has them in the same tier on his list.

I’m currently testing them against the ER2SE, Tea, and Hana. Comparison coming soon

I have a TWS named FIIL T1XS which has a plastic body, metal nozzle and a soft (fabric or paper idk) filter. and experienced condensation several times.
no issue on others sets that are plastic body (which are mostly plastic body and hard filter).
haven’t owned mele. and olina is yet to be arrived
! I hope I don’t have problems with this one.

Yes, different beasts! Complement each other, in my opinion.

The OG Olina has more open sound and slightly detail but lighter note weight than the Modded Olina in My ears, but the modded Olina has thicker note weight, smoother, and more kick bass. I like the timbre on the Olina, accurate instruments position and stage in my ears

Thanks @tkddans for your sound comparison video. :sparkling_heart:  :+1:
