Thanks for the love Based on images I think the Tanya and Hana filters are very similar.
Iām glad the double filter worked out for you!

From what I have measured, it seems they are different.
Okay, thanks, I learned somethingā¦ I had thought all those Tanchjim filters were the same.
Now we know! Haha
A big Thankyou to nymz for his help with my Olina issues
I buy these , and after 2 days the right ear donāt work anymore , it sad to waste money like that.
Iāve tried to switch the stock Olina cable and medium small bore olina eartips to Mele.
Comparing with My Olina with Tanya Filter, Mele is a special IEM. Why do I call it that?
Very natural vocals and excellent body, itās very nice. close to perfect Note weight, great depth, better height than the Olina, same width, more intimate vocals and instruments, perfect instrument position. In Olina, I still feel a drier sound than the Mele.
Talking about instruments detail, vocal clarity, and environment sound, yeahā¦ Olina is definitely superior than the Mele. Vocals on Mele still feel there is a thin cloth covering it and feels lacking in the upper treble.
BUT, why am I more addicted to Mele than Olina? Because the perfect note weight and bass quantity in the Mele but both is nice controlled bass, more intimate vocals and instruments, in other words, my ears are very close to speakers and musical instruments. More punchy instruments, drumset hit on the Mele is very nice. Better reverb effect to the vocals and instruments. Seriously, I have goosebumps with the Mele when I playing on One of My Favourite Singer, Charice - Always You and Note to God. My head canāt stop shaking. In Olina, I didnāt feel it, nor did other budget IEMs Iāve tried. For watching podcast, vlogging, education content, and talkshow, itās very nice vocal on the Mele.
Looking at the graph from @paulwasabii
Just making improvements to this area for Mele V2, next Olina or whatever, I think this will be the best Harman IEM tuning for Dynamic Drivers, of course with Quality Drivers who have good depth and technicalities.
*Everyoneās experience will be different, Iām not detail lovers. Very sensitive when there is an unnatural sound, excessive detail and coloration. But I must honestly say that this is how I feel from my experience to this comparison.
Thank you very much
Dude. Bra-vo. Fantastic read. Loved the input, thank you for all the work you put into this
Glad you enjoyed it man. Hope it helped
Try Radius Deep Mount tips with Tanya filter mod if you feel the sparkle is lost after modding. RDM tips definitely gave those sparkle back to near stock olina level, but the tradeoff is that it doesnāt sound as natural. I guess those extra high mid / treble does affect its naturalness.
What is the worst thing can happen to an audiophile? Iām sure infected and clogged ear canal is up there. I canāt listen my olinas nor other iems/headphones. Damn those etymotics. I thought my ears were ready, obviously they werenāt.
will you soon try and rank moondrop variations or shuoer s12 ?
are you sure it is not a condensation problem ? it happened to me, one side went 90% deaf. after letting it dry out it returned to normal.
if you prefer mele over olina (one tanya mod) because mele has more note weight and bass, then you should try olina (double mesh mod) because this mod has more bass than the one tanya mod you tried and may get closer to what you like in mele https://forum.hifiguides.com/uploads/default/original/3X/7/d/7d4b348f6f20b13b13499616ee4b30af272598c1.png
I too appreciate MELE more than I thought I would given the lack of treble detailā¦ for Music. Mostly rock where the impact of bass drum and bass is so critical as a foundation to the vocals and electric guitars. Unlike you, for youtube videos, Netflix movies, audio out of my large screen monitor watching cable TV, I much prefer Olina (double filtered). MELE is, for me, a little muddy and boomy in the bottom register of male voices during narration. That is stock MELE with supplied wide bore tips.
That midbass gentle glide down from subbass toward the lower mid, which is HBBās preference, as he once showed in Elisian Acoustics X and EJ07M-Kinda Lava, in the MELE doesnāt work for my ear. To me itās like having stereo speakers placed too close to a rear boundary wall and thus creating an unnatural boominess.
Thanks for reply, i will try to dry it and see if it works again. But i donāt think itās a condesantion issue , because i used it 10 min the day i buy it, then 30 minutes last night .
Still for instruments details, definitely i prefer olina. Environment sound like wind gusts, the friction of the leaves, the chirping of birds, the gurgling of water, and several other micro details are clearly more audible in Olina. For watching movies definitely I prefer Olina, but the weakness is still lacking in low frequencies. The double filter makes all these details disappear. For that, I prefer to use Tanya Filter.
Distortion of the guitar and piano keys, friction on the acoustic guitar and violin are also more audible in Olina. Mele has a thicker note weight strength but is a lacking on the top notes. For the natural voice on Mele, he has a body at low frequencies. Ssss is smoother, like shure SM7B, this is what I like about the vocals in Mele. For podcasts, talkshow, vlogging, and educational content I am more comfortable on Mele. The default cable is trash.
After I switch it with a copper/silver plate cable, which has the character of increasing the clarity and treble. What I feel is the bass on the mele is reduced and slightly increased the clarity of the voice. The sound of the cymbals becomes slightly more audible. But, I think there is a cloth that still covers his voice. The reason is the upper treble frequency is very lacking, as a result the sound still not too open. I conclude that the sound on this Mele is like a Big outdoor speaker which is more fun sounding. Olina is like a Hifi Sound speaker that can provide a good micro detail and flatter response. I like to watching live concerts, I prefer Meleās character sound and narrower soundstage. I hope Mele V2 can improve the upper treble area and reduce the bass a bit for more open sound and better high frequencies.
I want to do both but so much money Does anyone have an S12 or Variations for sale haha?
