DROP is always wrong.
DROP still has the wrong driver info about the H1707

I have moondrop springs since couple of days and while fit and comfort is unmatched it does reduces bass by quite a bit and brings the treble up. It may be desired in bass heavy IEMs, but Oxygen is not bass heavy by any means. In tea it does also go a little bit too low in quantity for my taste

Won’t drag the thread too off topic but it’s been said before :joy:

I am waiting for AZLA sednas, so would let you know once I receive them how they compare (they should arrive in similar time as my Olinas I hope)
Regarding the sizing - true, they feel more like medium sized, so while I was planning to replace SpinFits CP100 in my S12 (with very short nozzle) they feel a little bit too small to have proper seal.

As for the treble - I don’t think they necessarily increase the treble that significantly so it may become a problem in a set that has treble controlled.
All in all I won’t have much usage of Spring tips with my current sets. They may work great with some KZs or bass heavy Empire Ears though

Yes, you can.

To me it specializes on vocals, instruments, timbre and has some nice mid-bass and treble extension.

I would not use it for mega sub bass focused genres, for example.

How’s the EQ-ability of the bass on the Olina? Im wondering how it will hand pop and hip hop.

Im not sure I’d pick it for that, but what level of EQ are we talking about?

Nothing crazy (I don’t think). Ive been playing around with EQ on my Timeless and I have found the base levels for the Harmon target don’t leave me missing much but I prefer the USOUND base curve a bit more for the extra slam. I might not need that bump though with a DD as I hear the impact feeling is greater vs Planars.

If I like the Olina enough I will return the Timeless and wait out for the next big Planar or the Kinda Lava depending on the price. I may even go S12 since its a fair bit cheaper than the Timeless

I think the driver can take some beating through EQ, but I doubt it will take a lot, but that depends on the overall changes!

Test Tracks:

Lorde - Still Sane

Lorde’s vocals are forward and the background pane goes from left to right, very dynamic. You can pick up most of the details while the presentation keeps flashing sounds from left to right. Once the chorus comes in, around 1:37, the back vocals just surround you, immersing you in the experience, while the treble extension takes care of far away sparkles. Vocals might be a step too forward, but they feel natural and every note has weight, like Lorde is singing in the mic with an arm around your shoulder while the universe is throwing sounds at you at the same time. I loved the presentation, so I had to include this track here, as it shows how great Tripowin’s set works well with vocals followed by sparkly sounds on good stages.

Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi, the four seasons - Summer 1

Chords instruments have great timbre and together with the detail and imaging, make this track a blast. >The treble is just enough to feel present, borderline too much, but never crossing that line, even at louder levels. As the song reaches its climax, background instruments get more and more prominent, which Olina keeps separating with class, showing good dynamics. The best adjective I can think of is effortless. The sound is just effortless, the track just flows.

Snarkly Puppy - Tio macaco

This is a great track to show the display of Olina’s technical abilities in a nutshell. The whole song is just enjoyable and rich. And then you reach around 4:05, and the imaging, separation, stage, detail and air just kick in, throwing at you a true display of skill on percussion instruments, making you get up from your chair, close your eyes, forget you have iems on and just join the freestyle jam. Try it if you can, I beg you.

Technicalities

Imaging: Snarkly puppy - Shofukan

Starting at 5 minutes and 19 seconds, you can clearly see how Olina’s imaging get to work. Perfect drum rolls, pin-point style, fast and clear, with texture and detail.

Details: Nils Fraham - My Friend in the Forest

Olina’s detail level is above average. One characteristic I love the most on a set is its ability to give me mid range details. Nils’ keystrokes just sound intimate and detailed, like we are there, without being. Throughout the track this keeps going while the notes just float. A great record for a great set.

Got an email today saying they shipped so they should be in my hands anywhere from 1-12 weeks from now. Linsoul’s shipping speed to the US is inconsistent at best IMO. I’m pretty hyped no IEM has ever gave me the “goosebumps” on Nightwish . Keeping my fingers crossed. I am very much looking forward to these .

It wasn’t a preorder. They just did it this way to count first 500 sets sold. Those 500 will have signed cards with lyrics that you can post online and win stuff.

So we are all waiting for the Olina.
Are you guys planning to replace the tips or cable?
What would be better choice?
Radius deep mount or Cp100?

Thanks

I love SP, especially Larnel and the percussion guy (Nathan?). Amazing jams. Olina loves it :ok_hand:

Tips are very personal, but between the two I’d pick cp100 since it already has treble

Thanks for the well-written in-depth review! I was initially surprised that you didn’t compare with the Oxygen, but then I realised maybe you don’t want to detract from the crux of the review, which is to evaluate the Olina as a standalone product at 99 USD (and one which you’d recommend, per your conclusion).

Still, as an Oxygen owner, I can’t help but wonder why the Olina imaging turned out to be so-so, whereas the Oxygen imaging is often touted as one of its forte. Perhaps the reshelling had an affect. How does Olina’s imaging compare with similarly priced IEMs?
