🔶 Tripowin X HBB Olina

I don’t have the Oxygen here, I mentioned as much in the review. It would have been in the comparison section had I did

Right right, I figured. But how does Olina’s imaging compare with similarly priced IEMs?

I’d say superior to the Legacy 2 and FiiO FD3 for sure, but it’s closer with the TITAN S and the Aria. I’ll give the edge to the Olina probably based on recent memories, but needs more A/B comparisons to be sure.

Thanks for the review! I love seeing more opinions come out on this set. Im interested in the fact that you don’t recommend these for acoustic and Jazz and also mention the imaging is so-so whereas @nymz called out those as areas of strength.

How would you compare the imaging and tonality to the Timeless? I find my Timeless to not really be enjoyable for rock (feels kind of lifeless) and orchestral music (due to soundstage).

why did they have to do a presale, with first shipment starting february the 8th to send signed cards to the first 500 orders ? it is uncorrelated because if they reached 500 orders before february the 8th or never reach 500 orders by february the 8th, they will still send signed card to the first 500 orders anyway and they started shipping february the 8th anyway. so it makes a lot of sense that they waited februarry the 8th in order to know how many olina orders they have and start building on february the 8th 1/ to avoid any risks by over ordering too many drivers in advance (cash flow management as these are expensive drivers at $27 a piece ) and/or 2/ negociating a higher volume driver order to increase benefits.

if the oline pre-order with shipping starting februrary the 8th is related to chinese new year then all iem on linsoul would have been on pre-order with shipping starting februrary the 8th, no ?

It doesn’t make much sense to start initial builds after the release date. I don’t know a single industry that works that way. Pre-orders are usually used to gauge interest and understand how many units they need for a second order. Usually there is already some level of inventory at release. I would assume for the Olina there was at least 500 units since those will have the cards with them.

The Timeless isn’t very good for that either, it’s technical prowess is in the lows with good macrodynamics and perceived slam backed by good tuning. If you didn’t like it for orchestral music, the Olina won’t do much better imo.

Custom Xinhs 4 core graphene with dark grey hardware incoming (hope it’ll be a good colour match for Olina :crossed_fingers:) - well, it would be rude not to.

Care to share the hardware option you picked?

My Olina is in transit. Linsoul has a fairly standard shipping duration, so hopefully, they will be here soonish. Don’t want to jinx it, but I shall be placing a sleeping roll by the door and listening for the pitter-patter of the posties feet. New tips are also due any day now so win-win!!!

I ordered the upgrade cable with mine. Having a universal plug option with a well made cable for $30 is hard to pass up. As far as tips go I’m pretty much stuck with foam, I have large oddly shaped ear holes that just refuse to seal with anything else. I have however found that Hybrid tips do work if I’m not moving around a lot.

Give the ePro horn tips a go.
I was stuck with foams or hybrids but took a punt on the ePro and they fit really well and also sound better than my foams or hybrids.

I will do that. Thank you :sunglasses:

Have you tried Azla Sedna Light?

Azla makes a great tip however I am a Master Woodworker by Trade and work around Sawdust all day. The sticky nature of the Azla tips causes them to collect dust like crazy every time I pull them out.
I like my foam tips. Comply and Dekoni have served me well over the years.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. This is a very helpful group

Thanks for the review. :slightly_smiling_face:
Would you recommend something for fans of classical music (piano, cello and orchestral)?
I know you probably listen to such with headphones, but any good Iems for that around 300$?

I saw the Olina online from my local online store, and they really look elegant in my opinion. I will keep these in mind once I have the chance to get an IEM again, but for now I have other options need to be taken care of before I get back in the IEM game again.
