Par for the course on any decent power amplifier, my monoblocks were 80lbs a piece, and that’s not unusual. The big Krell’s get into 100’s of pounds a piece.
Yeah if you want a healthy power supply, and lots of output power, it takes a lot of iron. No way around it. Especially if you want high class A bias.
