dt1990 vs dt880 600 ohm? Is dt990 300 dollars better just for fps gaming?

for just fps? 1990 and 990 both win over the 880 due to soundstage, imaging, 1990 brings in the mids, both have more treble, 1990 has less bass on analytical pads. 1990 as statedā€¦ bit overkill and not necessary

Sounds like you alrady have your choices picked outā€¦ go with the 880 plus your asgard 3 and Modiusā€¦ if you feel something is wrongā€¦ make sure you have return policies and pinpoint what you feel is wrong so it can be changed for the better

Wait 990 is better?

In technicalities based on pure FPS yes. It is much brighter and revealing to footsteps but with that can come ear piercing levels of sibilance so be warned on that, itā€™s rather hard to deal with for a great many people. At the same time 880 is semi open while both 1990 and 990 are open backsā€¦ they have more soundstage and the better imagingā€¦ 880 is the more mid centric very heavily detailed headphoneā€¦ it checks pretty much every box while remaining a great bright headphone. 990s biggest issues are that 1. it has too much bass to a slight degree and 2. it has far too much treble for many people

In which video games that ear piercing sibilance levels will be there and when?

sibilance does not go on a game by game or song basisā€¦ if itā€™s going to be sibilant for youā€¦ itā€™s going to effect pretty much everything. Treble sensitivity goes on a by-person basisā€¦ we are all different. I personally have next to zero issues with intensely bright headphones but I know a lot of others who cannot stand the 990 whatsoever

I hear you thanks

Itā€™s worth a try, if you find you are one of those without much issues to treble. Itā€™s a fantastic headphone for sureā€¦ but definitely one that would need auditioned. 880 is the safer approach from beyer and tygrs are the safest approach. You can of course use the toilet paper mod(working on testing with tygr filter to replace this) to dial back the treble of the 990 but also pad swapsā€¦ much like the rest of the beyers

Soo for fps gaming its like this 880<990<1990? Also what pads would you recommend?

if you go from least to greatest then yes.

depends solely on what your looking for in terms of sound signature. recommended go with dekoni pads and not cheapo brainwavz. Dekoni will have a graph on their pages for each pad to show what they do to your sound respectively.

Sooo for fps gaming what is your go to headphones? Also you should add dt1990 in your guide. Would love to read your views

the 1990 is in the write up where the Ananda and Elex are listed.

Personally, donā€™t really have a go-to as I play fine without any sound edge, but if I had to pinpointā€¦ I would say probably my T1.2 or 1990 in that regardā€¦

I meant 990
Also you are a professional competitive gamer right?
I play solo or sometimes with friends and I ainā€™t a professional. My current headphones are hd598. I just like to have fun in games and killing other players is fun for sure

Ex- but yea.

That one as well as the 770 are in the works of being added already. Rather difficult to edit to such a large degree considering busy schedule I have about, I think I would say 65% of it updated on the document so getting there gradually.

Understandable, I think you will be fine with really any of the ones brought up. HD598 is a nice headphone slight step below the 58x Jubilees

I guess I will try both 880 and 990

soo is there a better option for single player games, movies and sometimes music? Or is argon good

That, is likeā€¦ unbelievably subjective lmao. Single players are completely preference based on what sounds someone prefers or soundstage, music depends on genre(neutral can be deemed boring, bass can give headaches, sibilance makes your ears bleed, etc etc, preference), and moviesā€¦ I mean I wouldnā€™t tell you to use bright headphones for movies because sibilance when the people are talking is annoying as it is tiring but something with a lot of clarity is nice. argons may be a bitā€¦ I want to say explosive? when it comes to action movies because they just have that much low end. So yes, if thatā€™s your thing they work just fine, they also are just a T50RP mod so you can swap out there pads and the signature will flip around. I would say nighthawks are a neat alternativeā€¦ neither upgrade or sidegrade just a different headphone in that sense. Then again Nighthawks work for competitive gaming as well shockingly enough and are one of the only dark headphones in that regard that work well granted not as good as say the 880 or anything

Can I change the pads on argons? Or just t50rp? And actually I was earlier planning to buy fidelio x2 for single player games and movies

same headphone. Argon are a mod of the T50RP. T50RP is known as the modders headphoneā€¦

warm signature with a hint of brightness, bass slightly bleeds into hte mids, very large soundstage, decent imaging. Works fine but make sure itā€™s the X2HR as the original x2 was just a bright headphone

Soo between x2hr, argon and used nighthawks for my need?
