Thought I’d give the old CALs some rest and try something new. Could I please get a few suggestions?
Looking for something in the <200$ range
gotta be light and comfy, with pads that don’t trap too much heat in. not looking to change pads either.
easy to drive out of phone/laptop/pc, not looking to get dac/amp
as for sound signature, would like something similar to the CALs but more detailed. don’t like harsh or anal sound, would rather something warm and fun.
hey thanks, was looking at the tygr but can only get em bundled with that mic and I’ve 0 use for it
I should mention, I’m in EU and feel massdrop doesn’t make a lot of sense for stuff that’s 1-200$, because I end up paying another 100$ on top in vat + duty fees + shipping, might as well get something better that’s readily available over here
In your opinion, are there any good wireless options in this price range or should I just stick to wired? Would be nice to lose the cord, either bluetooth or even better, wireless “gaming” stuff just for the convenience. I understand you get better sound/$ with a wire, but at least something competent that sounds as good as or better than some CALs.
Only solid wireless option is Sennheiser Wireless Momentum 3. It’s pricey, though. Maybe, Hifiman Deva with BT adapter. (You can run them wired, also.) Not sure it would outresolve CAL, though. It’s also pricey. I would suggest sticking to wired. TYGR is a good option.
There’s a Beyer called Custom Game that I found locally for 120$. 16 ohms… closed but has a slider thing to open it up a bit. too bad they don’t use velour pads.
