Are these upgrades or sidegrades?
Oracle mk3, Thieaudio Hype 4, Ziigaat Odyssey, Softears volume S. Which would work for me? Budget $550
I listen with FH7 to anything, mostly hip hop and acoustic/vocals. (adele,dermot kennedy,beyonce)
Looking for something like FH7 which is very detailed, wide soundstage, excellent vocals, clarity and has deep bass/low bass(for hip hop).
For reference I have fatfreq Scarlet for my hip hop bass heavy tracks (21 savage,gucci mane)
No one wants to answer here. The FН7 is a good IEM, with some remarks about the timbre and separation. I think a good upgrade would be the Oracle MK3.
Never listened to it personally but FH9 get’s a lot of praise and might be a good upgrade
The Elysian Pilgrim fits in that company. Very detailed yet smooth, not the widest stage but still quite good. Vocals are exemplary, clarity and bass/subbass controlled…all there. I’ve not heard the FH7 but compared to the Odyssey and Vol S, and Hype 2, it’s more exciting when the track calls for it without overdoing it though not as forgiving with poorly mastered tracks. Walks that fine line of too resolving and not resolving enough for me
It’s also quite useful to use squig link to EQ to another IEM or someone else’s target. There’s a button to save in Wavelet format for import…of course the fundamentals need to be there in hardware capabilities first
