Used dap for streaming music

Hi i want to buy a low budget dap which has a overall good support on the OS, is stable and can be bought used.

If i would go new i try the Hiby r4 cuz it looks great. Shall i buy that or get something used?

What u all recommend?

I would stream the music via Qobuz
Thanks all

If it were me, I’d go new. To use the Qobuz app you’ll need Android (for now at least). Most android based daps I’ve tried are stable, but android versions are only supported for so long. At some point the Qobuz app will not be compatible with older android versions. I have not tried, but the R4 is probably your best bet for now. Other options like the dx180, or r6III would be great too, but they’re more

Hiby M300 seems pretty good for the price.

Is the use case IEMs primarily or also full size headphones too?

If primarily IEMs then I can give a +1 to the M300 for a modern Android OS app and streaming that can be found on the pre-owned market. There is actually one on head-fi now (not mine nor am I affiliated in anyway with the seller).

Between the M300 and the R4 you have to ask yourself if is battery life important, the M300 is much better in that department but the R4 definitely sounds better (to me) and does pretty good with full size HPs too. I have both so speaking from personal experience. The R4 is easier to use in my experience because the M300 is so small my fat fingers often make it a pain to use the keyboard and such. But for a device that you want to take on a walk, to the gym, or just put in a pocket doing chores around the house it’s great - nice small and light. For general or more interactive use then the R4 wins hands down IME. I’ve also seen a couple R4 on head-fi too.

Both are nice but I think they have different use cases.

If you decide to get into the $500 and up range then yes the dx180 is fantastic and so is the dx260 I have these as well and of the 2 the bang for your buck is the dx180 IMO.
