I am always drawn to vintage items, especially when it comes to audio. Although I do not have any vintage HiFi equipment, I am always on the lookout for it at estate sales, garage sales and swap meets.
RCA Victor 6x7 Vintage Tube AM Radio… works perfectly… missing center gold cap on dial and a gold accent strip on the middle bottom… besides that in great shape.
Wow !! The sad part is I remember having one of those some 50 frickin years ago!!
It is the 1956 model… the year before I was born. But I wouldn’t call it sad… to be able to witness the advancement of technology and to have interest in it the whole way is something special. I can remember going to Thriftys with my dad when I was young to pick up tubes for the tv. This radio sure brings back memories.
same age…Yes as to the advancements as well. I was born a music nut and from a very early age I started with one of these and steadily evolved. Sad because time has flown by too fast. Lol!!
