Hi guys I am new to this forum, looking for the best planar magnetic headphones under 350 USD. I hope all you guys out there with great knowledge will surely help. Thanks in advance
Hello and welcome to hfgf . Are you talking about open back or iems?
Headphones: Sundara
IEM: 7hz Timeless
Hi I forgot to mention I am looking for open back
(this is the iem section btw)
Probably the Sundara.
You can do it too as a regular, FYI. Slight perks of being here all day everyday lol.
Hello and welcome,
If you add another $150 and look at the Dan Clark Aeon R/T and you have a good source amp.
It’s definitely worth it and the extra cost.
It is the best planar headphone up to 500$ in my opinion.
And you can choose either an open or closed version.
Alternatively, there is also the Sendy Aiva.
But keep in mind that even with headphones up to 350$ you have a decent source and the amplifier has enough power to drive planar headphones.
That is the be-all and end-all of planar headphones.
Didn’t know guys, sorry, lol.
Thanks for letting me know!
Personally I’d save the money and go HE400se or like @Deleeh said, stretch the budget a little for the Aeon R/T.
Modhouse Argons is one to think about to.
Hifiman Sundara
I would say the Sundara’s are certainly the smoothest and least objectionable. Nothing ever sounded bad to me on those, but of course nothing ever sounded really great either. I hated the HE-4XX.
I have the T60 Argons and they are nice. But they need some serious power.
My favourite planar right now is the Monoprice M1570’s and they are currently on sale for $399.00. And you can get the M1070’s for probably $100.00 less, although I have not heard them. They are pretty easy to drive too.
I thought the M570’s sucked so I would avoid those.
He560 v4 is fairly cheap these days and to me were better than sundaras in pretty much every way. I always forget about them cause nobody talks about them.
