What are you drinking tonight?

oh, and while not alcoholic, I’ve been enjoying spiced apple cider and a new apple cider made of honey crisps apples.

I did exactly what I said I would do when I bought a car. I broke the seal and am having a drink to celebrate.

The peat… oh the peat! Don’t know if you’re into this, but Islay Scotches go really well with seafood stews. I’m a Laphroaig man myself. Cheers!

Dalwhinnie was the last scotch I had. When I opened it, I thought it smelled like apples. This one? I opened it, took a whif and was “Wow… That’s something else.”

You have a good nose. Dalwhinnie is a Highland malt and the telltale note for the region is that green apple. Good stuff. Glenmorangie is another good distillery there.

Hahaha. Yup that’s an Islay malt! You’ll get some of the most unique aromas as far as drinks go with those guys. Camphor, Iodine, Tar… all that. It’s a huge departure from most whiskeys. Take your time with it.

The more I’ve smelt it, the more I think about sea salt. I can definitely see how it would go nicely with a warm stew or some fish. Maybe even some clam chowder.

Strong alcohols and seafood? … :grimacing: no, this could end badly, lol.

Ardbeg for me tastes like… just a lot of herbs. “Earthy”, even? Definitely not bad, considering I already got drunk with Chartreuse.

Trying a brew from small town Minnesota.

The “winter” and “tropical” together makes me chuckle. But it’s a solid beer.
