i googled Verity Lohengrin IIS and they are like 100k a pair, like what the fuck thats the price of an small apartment here.
do you have its measurements since i couldn’t find any online?
Given their age, used it’s around ~45-50k ish at this point, at least that’s what I got mine for
I don’t personally no, but I do remember seeing some once and they aren’t very pretty lol
Here they are from a different model https://www.stereophile.com/content/verity-audio-sarastro-ii-loudspeaker-measurements. Very strange speakers, in the manual they even suggest removing room treatment for a livelier room (and that’s really a good idea lol, both picky but not picky about the room at the same time). Once I heard them years ago at a CES show with lamm gear, I knew I had to have them eventually, just had to wait for the used prices to drop lol
why? they don’t measure good at all tbh. the imaging or sound stage is special part of their sound?
They sounded amazing, sounded even better in my own space, so that was really the main reason. I do think the Lamm pairup is the key for me, didn’t like them as much with some other amps I tried. Not really anything else aside from that. I would agree that they’re not the most flat sounding speakers tonally, but that’s the most time domain accurate speaker setup I’ve personally heard to where that contributes to a lot more real-ness than a lot of other speakers I’ve owned or heard. One of those you have to hear to really understand what it does (but that’s most things in audio). PM me if you’ve got more questions so we don’t disrupt the thread any further lol
Aiwa HP-V99. These are some legendary vintage earbuds from Aiwa’s ‘Pipe Buds’ series that were sold in the 80s and 90s. I’m definitely not an authority on vintage earbuds, but I can say that the HP-V99s do have a pretty cool sound and presentation to them. People pay some pretty ridiculous prices for these buds as I have seen pairs in similar condition to mine (very good, complete accessories) go for $2k to $3k (and I don’t pay attention to the used market for them).
That said, mine were given to me by my late saxophone/music theory teacher who was my musical mentor and a great friend. It really doesn’t matter how much they sell for because the price isn’t enough to cover what they mean to me sentimentally.
I also have a couple vintage drum kits, cymbals, saxophones, and a guitar that I can’t see myself ever selling, but I’m assuming that isn’t the kind of audio gear you meant…
I am so poor, I have never even heard of a lot of that stuff!
I have the last 2 and agree. Still can’t get over the KSC75s stage on my
recently acquired G111 and it’s Accurate timbre on the Asgard 3,lol. I use mine
with headband and Yaxis. (and the Bifrost OG)
I still abide by the ‘never say never’ rule, but I would most likely always keep my Zen DAC og. at least, until I sell it.
Most of my headphones. The ones I was more meh on I have sold already or given to family. The 600s 6xxs I would never sell. T60 argon’s were the first planars I heard that I really liked. My Zmf auteur classics and atriums. The meze 109s just because I think they are sexy.
