yea every where i check they are around 130 to 140 here in the UK. i think ill have to go with the K5 Pro off aliexpress as that will cost me 125 and i will have both amp and dac
Yeah, if you can get a k5 pro for that price it’s kinda a steal for the performance it has imo

I would get the ifi zen. ifi is a great company and the Zen was just released. has the latest tech, it also does MQA. the schiit house sound adds treble. which the DT1990 has already too much of. not sure if the hersey has that too since its new
The zen dac is great, but the issue is that he wouldn’t be able to utilize the balanced output, and the single ended output of the zen dac is subpar, so it wouldn’t be the best choice with the 1990 imo
I don’t hate the Zen Dac, but as a an Amp it’s severely under powered. As a DAC it has features that I don’t mind.

I’ve found these guys a couple of weeks ago as I also not a big fan of AliExpress. I haven’t ordered from them yet. Take a look might be a nice option for us European folks.
thats almost 180. Im prob just going to get the ifi zen dac if zeos reviews it and its decent coz i can get it for around 120 atm and it has balanced 4.4 and imo it looks a bit nicer
The main concern is though that you can’t take advantage of the 4.4mm balanced, as the 1990 cannot be balanced without mods, and the single ended out on the zen dac isn’t that great
planning getting the blon b20 too so could use that and also with some of my iem’s

The DT1990 only has one cable going into it. it need 2. one for each cup to use it balanced. so you would need to mod it
