What dac is best for my headphone and amp

So I would reverse the two lol, the sundara for music and t50rp for gaming

I’m a bass head and don’t you need better treble and imaging for gaming. Can I just get a reason why you believe I should use the t50rp argon mod for gaming

Ah I forgot it was an argon, my bad lol. I do think that the sundara would be gaming for you then, but personally for music my preference also leans towards the sundara

Omg I would agree but their is a lot of sound around my house and I need a close pair of headphones. I am also am a hardcore bass head. I really appreciate all your help

Hey M0N I was wondering if the hifiman sundara perform well in gaming. Would Z Reviews call it SERIOUS GAMER CANS or FLUFFY CASUAL CANS. Thanks

Most likely somewhere in the middle, I think for competitive gaming it’s nice with it’s extension and it does have good imaging, but I think it can get confusing in it’s presentation for locating people, but still respectable. I would prefer something like the dt880 600 ohm for competitive gaming, but I think the sundara would be great for mixed causal and competitive gaming, leaning a bit more on the casual side of things

Have you try DTS Headphone:X from Windows store yet? I don’t normally use this type of sound enhancement ( Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos) active when I play games but I found DTS Headphone:X is pretty good and accurate with its directional sound.

IMO with a good headphone I have yet to find an instance where I would say the placement is more accurate with something like dts or dolby outside of what is built into the game

I have tried Dolby atmos but the audio has always sounded weird and unnatural

Anything outside the game post processing in game audio to something else has no spatial information, so it’s at best an approximation.

Yes, it depends on the game itself. I’ve tried it with 2 games so far. Division 2 and Borderlands 3. DTS does wonders with Division 2 but it makes no difference in Borderlands 3.
