yep, heck of a choice. I’m particularly frugal. I re-brew beans and make depression era coffee all the time. GF can’t believe how cheap I am with certain things. We all have choices to make for what we want though

I believe there’s 12AX7s and EL34s in my guitar amp. And uh, tube guitar amps are here to stay too.
My Fender Bassman 100T bass guitar amp uses 12AT7 tubes, similar enough to 12AX7/12AU7.

Yeah, for the price I think the Andromedas do a bit more than the Pentas
I end up preferring the penta over the andros but they are both somewhat overpriced imo

That’s more preference imo, they are differently tuned and have differing presentations and goals imo.

I think after owning the Empyreans and Noirs, I was mostly surprised at what the Pentas weren’t. The Atlas were more like what I wanted the Pentas to be

Yes the penta is not like the other meze’s tuning wise. They are generally just good all rounders. I got mine for 400 basically just new so that’s why I picked it up

The Clears are real good, that was a solid choice. you might be able to even let go one of the other 2 pairs of Focals if sound signature’s don’t offer enough difference in flavor
I liked the Penta and I at least appreciate most Mezes. The machining felt really premium, but so do the Andros at that price in my opinion. I like the Andromedas treble, and I ended up going with the Atlas because it had that treble plus the bass I was looking for with the Pentas.
I’ve been going a little nuts with buying iems of late.
