What did you buy today? (Part 1)

Just bought a 58x. My sister is getting that and a 4xx for Christmas it’s looking like.

Edit: I have to explain to her that she collects headphones now

That’s a steal at the current price, really hard to beat. Solid buy.

Had to buy it huh.
And no… not just because of the sound quality and the “audiophile history” of this CD. Come on, I need more Jazz with Xylophones in my life!

Can I be your brother? I would love a pair of 99 noirs.

Max Setting’s review of them was “Beats by Meze”. Having owned them I’d have to agree that the tuning is pretty insanely bass heavy

Pretty much want they are, a more enthusiast beats tuning lol

I picked up the X2HR from Amazon. I’ve been interested in them for a long time and the price was finally right lol. Got them on Monday and I’ve been listening to them a little bit. So far I’m pretty impressed. My nicest pair of headphones before this were a used pair of SHP9500, so the build quality was a huge step up. I’d say detail retrieval is also better than on the 9500, though I think the tuning is not quite as neutral. Leans a little more warm and bassy, but I think I prefer that style so it works for me

Nice, do you think comfort is a step up or is it around the same?

In a safe…?
I got the exact same Omega Seamaster and I bought it for two reasons:

  1. Orange is my favourite color and I wanted a new watch because of #2
  2. I have another Omega but with two sons I guessed it would be nice for them to have one each from their old man, when the time comes

I wear one of them everyday, they are great in design, quality and overall its a nice feeling with a decent watch.

I’d say so, the X2HR is definitely heavier than the 9500, and the clamp is a little tighter, but the suspension strap is way nicer, and the stock pads are definitely a lot thicker and more plush. I wouldn’t say that it’s significantly more comfortable, but I do think it’s a bit better.

They are heavy aren’t they? I got mine today and that was my first impression when I picked them up. How do you find the clamp and the pads? In a two minute test the pads seemed hard and the clamp seemed pretty strong. I will give them a shot tomorrow.

I got my D30 DAC today too, so I will be busy tomorrow. Headphones for a couple of hours and then off to the office for a new sound system.

exactly what I want budjust give me that dirt dirty bass

Don’t you have x2’s lol? I think those should do the job

will you have to fight Aquaman if you wear this?

Yes, you gotta be prepared, I have to fight the Joker when I wear the batman lol

To be honest, I would wear a Rolex Sea Dweller if I had to fight Aquaman. When you stop to operate that manual helium release valve on the Omega, that’s when Aquaman strikes. With the Rolex it’s automatic.

I would be to afraid to wear my watches diving lol. I instead wear this like smartwatch thing that has all types of useful info for diving

Well, that’s the useful and practical solution. But where’s the fun in that??!?

What’s funny is that many watches have depth ratings of 300 meters. The record SCUBA depth is 308 meters. And if you did dive that deep, you would never use a luxury watch.

I have a dive computer watch that has all my current stats like my tank pressure, depth, warns me about nitrogen narcosis and surface interval, if anything is wrong with my gear, along with other stuff like logging my dives
