It’s gonna make it a budget Utopia! (sarcasm)

or the ultimate Elear

It’ll probably make it the best all around focal that’s ever existed. Just blow everything else away!

Only catch is you have to use their janky cable

you have to? can’t swap out with an upgrade?

That’s already been fixed lol
Use the same one for my elegia too so those focal cables stay in the box.

Not if you want the Ultimate Elear™

I don’t follow…so pls clarify?

I’m just being sarcastic. There is some argument that changing the pads on an Elex will result in the same tuning as a Clear. The one thing everyone agrees on is that their stock cables blow

there has been a lot of debate over whether there was any additional tuning done to the Elex other than just a, Elear with a Pad swap. I tend to think it’s more than
Elear + Clear Pads = Elex
But it keeps getting repeated.
The has turned into small number of people (I hope tongue in cheek) in some corner of the internet claiming that the only difference in the entire Focal lineup is just the Pads (easily disproven)
But hence the Meme here

I am replying to my own post to make a note of the fact that this was posted 18 days ago and I just got my little plastic baggy today (May 1st).

I just realized that post doesn’t make any sense without the original post to put it in context. Doh…

18 days ago I ordered the driver tuneup kit for the Fostex TH-610’s and got it today.

yes…I was aware of these rumors / opinions on pad swapping. but the comment that seemed to indicate a cable swap wasn’t possible befuddled me, as I thought they were all removable. they are…so not really sure why it was said, when the cables can be. :stuck_out_tongue:

I bought these Wednesday, but they arrived today. Now I can complete my full Lawton mod.

How full are we talkin’?

Everything but the Lawton pads. I went with ZMF Ori’s.

Furman makes no-BS, by-the-specs power gear. I used to run a Monster Power conditioner with my loudspeaker setup, and whether it made an audible difference I couldn’t say, but I needed surge protection and the Monster was a sharp-looking solution

When I finally upgraded to McIntosh separates I went with a Furman REFERENCE 20-i conditioner. That beast weighs 81lbs and has a torroidal transformer the size of a bundt cake under the hood. I’m pretty sure that if my house gets struck by lighting the Furman will punch the sky back.

I’m still waiting for my cable I ordered quite a while back to arrive to replace my elex’s stock cable.
