What did you buy today? (Part 1)

The humble legend with a colorful upgrade. Koss Porta Pro. The audio embodiment of “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” I’m hoping they sound as fun as they look. Also picked up some new tunes today. Let’s rock!

Got this as a gift from my aunt, she was kind enough to give me a new case since my previous one is so shitty. It’s not much but I am more happy than my old case. It’s called the Silverstone Fara B1 if anyone of you are curious.

Fair warning: This has nothing to do with Prime Day, and this might be a bit long, so please bear with me.
First, I got these two things a couple days ago.
A cheap ($8 from DG) speaker that I could set behind the check out counter and have play music while I work, as an outlet isn’t really available, and it’s nice to be able to have my phone near/on my person to change the station (YouTube Music/Pandora) or change the song.
If I really don’t give the music really much if ANY attention, or if I don’t play it from almost literally any other source, I don’t hate it. As soon as I try playing it from a microSD card… I want to take it out back behind the barn and put it down. It’s bad for any other use.

I had picked up a can of Plastidip to add some grip to the smooth plastic the damn pos and used some on the bottom of my JDS Labs Switcher.

NOW!!! Time for the better shit… After a few more Samoas…
The September box has come in, and apperently we’re going very mainstream.
To start… Apperently I have jumped through time… Six months, only time didn’t actually pass, though the amount of time I’ve been subscribed still counted those extra six months… (I started with the May box)

As a continuation from last month, we have a die cut sticker of Irisviel von Enzbern, and a holographic trading card(not pictured, as even censored, I feel it may still not be okay) of Kama, both from the Fate series.

Keeping with the concept of powers, a fist sized “plushie” (tiny bean bag keychain deal is not a plushie) from My Hero: Shoto Todoroki

Then we have the very openly perverted short stack, who’s got his hands full of sticky balls: Minoru Mineta (I’m mildly disappointed, as this is the first with painfully obvious flaws in manufacturing)

Now this young neko would definitely be call Mineta a pervert, as she’s done the same to the pawn we all know all to well… Might deck him too. Showing both the shirt and wall scroll since one shows Koneko with a blue backdrop while the other is pink.

On the counter oposite side of Lolis, this curvacious young lady’s opai might just put the Ds in DxD, inspiring those lewd thoughts in you perverts!
This figure of Rias is actually taller then my phone when I stand it up. The top spike of Goku’s hair doesn’t quite reach her hip, and from the widest points on her wings, it’s almost as wide as an iFi Zen DAC (very close). There seems to be one tiny flaw in her hair(If I cropped the image any, it was getting blurry AF)

On the subject of opai and healing, this most certainly is a lovely button of a young knight with a wonderful personality: Mimosa Vermillion

While being one of the items not listed in this month’s loot, it couldn’t have come at much better of a time… Not after my nephew stole and lost my other pair of Happy chopsticks… They sent a new pair ^^

Now, this one had me going. I found… a Otaku Box branded IEM case…? Not exactly, but there’s something… Okay, so we’ve swapped to SAO, huh? More USB cables can always come in handy, particularly these retractable ones (can’t say I like the tight bends on those connectors though…). On the other hand, I’ll never use the lightning connector, so I’ll just stick with the type C. Not gonna catch me dead with an iPhone.

Finally, back to the theme of Waifus and things that will never be used… a pop socket with interchangeable waifu designs. Rias, Asuna, Rem, and Raphtalia (BEST GIRL. FUCK YOU. FIGHT ME.)

To be honest I never expected her to give me something like this in the first place, probably it’s because I just graduated recently this year. No ceremony though and all I can do right now is to wait for the delivery of my diploma for safety reasons, better safe than sorry they said.

Last night I bought some MassDrop Edition XX’s. I had been looking at these for several months on Amazon.ca

In Canada they are infrequently available for $899.00 plus 15% tax. I picked these up used for $500.00. Supposed to be mint.

More mid-fi for Shane.

Two weeks to ship from Vancouver. :grimacing:

New case, old internals. After building systems for almost 2 decades, got sick of building out of a box, and so decided to go for something…well that wasn’t a box and was a slanted box.

My first impression is:

Shaking my head for hours since I got him this morning

These headphones have nothing to do with so called "MidFi"anymore!

I had the Beyerdynamic T1 3rd Gen. a few days at home and gave it back disappointed.

The iBasso SR2 does everything I expected from the T1:

Clearly structured BASS that deserves this word.
Mids who provide a lot of information without being in the least intrusive.
Heights that give you a distinct sense of space without a trace of sibillants.

The stage is somewhere between my HD660S and my HD800S.

The tonality is more on the warm side without sounding in the least dull, on the contrary.
The reproduction of details is not at the level of the Focal Clear or the HD800S, but it is still extremely present.

Last but not least, it is also very comfortable, looks good and has a high quality finish.
All in all, these headphones have very good long-term suitability, both in terms of tone and comfort.
