Being VERY happy with my Moondrop S8, I had to try the B2 Dusk.
Sound is yet to be compared as they arrived today, but build, size and general look is very similar.
Best fit so far re tips are the original out of the box, as the nozzle is so wide most other I have tried don’t fit.
Finally snagged A calibration mic at a decent price (under 40). Usually they are closer to $60. I bought the floor model when I got my AVR so it did not come with the mic.
The Accuphase E-270 didn’t convince me at all.
I no longer see Luxman as an Accuphase on a budget but rather as a sound of its own.
Some people warned me about Luxman beeimg bright but I can’t make out anything ruining the neutral and realistic tonality.
The soundstage of the L-505aXII reminds me of tube amplifiers with its 3 dimensionality and plasticity.
The L-505uXII lacks this superior soundstage presentation.
Compared to my not considerably cheaper Audionet Sam, the Luxmann seems like a real bargain. lol The overall clarity, speed and also the fine detail in the treble seems worlds better.
Technical data tell nothing …
The Rega Elex-R with 72 @ 8 watts distorts with my Harbeth Super HL5 in the bass, where the 20 @ 8 watts Luxmann remains completely dry.
The phono section is actually surprisingly good but the stated technical data is complete nonsense.
MM: 2.5mV/47kΩ -> use 5 / 5.5mV output Cart
Ortofon 2M BLACK makes a really good partner here
MC: 0.3mV/100Ω -> use 0.5mV output Cart - (the resistance also seems higher)
the Sumiko Blue Point Special EVO III with 0.5v fits
But it seemed to me that you are better off with a MM here.
