Yeah, it seems I’m gonna have to wait a little to realize their full potential. I plugged them into my GSX1000 just out of curiosity, and there’s definitely not enough juice in this thing to drive them well. My Schiit stack is on backorder until the 19th, so I’ll get to enjoy them properly when that arrives…
love the Vever G cush on my 60’s still need to try on the 80’s and hemps, may just have to try these at well. Really improves the comfort.
ZMF Atticus Marbelwood arrived today. Now I just have to get through the rest of the work day before listening to it.
Wow, that’s some discipline!
Yeah I had a little chinese tube amp that provided like … 300mW of power and was not impressed. Now driving them balanced off the 6Watt (you don’t need 6) SMSL SH-9 and mmmm…
Auteur arrived just now. Initial impressions are very good. Definitely a noticeable improvement over the Aeolus.
All these zmf posts recent got me jelly as hell
Looking at the different lines in ur headphone. How has Zach not made (to my knowledge) a headphone with different wood per cup?? I understand they have different sound per wood but that would look sooooooooo dope lol
if you have a hip dac (or probably many other USB dacs)… GET AN ISILENCER+…
you will not notice the difference immediately and even I initially thought “ok i wasted 50 bucks, its snake oil but fuck it no problem keeping it on”… then I wondered “hmm, what if I do remove it from my chain”… and then immediately my headphones and dac lacked warmth, the bass was less resolved, the soundstage felt a little closer, and there was a bit of an artificial grain to it…
i cant say if other similar products like the jitterbug do anything different but the isilencer+ gets a recommendation from me
go for stabilized wood maybe?
There u go lol
Those are neat too because the first versions of stabilized wood looked a bit like ass tbh
After a bit of a manic month where I’ve bought Tygr 300R’s, Meze 99 Classics and Audioquest Nighthawk Carbon’s, this is the final piece of the jigsaw.
I want to get rid of one of the headphones though, the plan was for a gaming headphone and a music headphone. The Tygr’s were bought for gaming but they need a bit too much power than my controllers can give, and the 99’s run really well off the controller. The NH’s are the music headphone, so I think I’ll sell on the Tygr’s. I could even see a situation where the NH’s are used for both music and gaming really.
Zach addressed this on a livestream a few months back. I don’t remember exactly what he said verbatim but I do know some woods are easier to source than others.
After a 1hour long debate with myself I finally decided to bite the bullet and ordered these two. Watched Zeo’s video and read some reviews on both of them and decided they were for me. Very intriqued on how the 3D and xBass will work. My first desktop DAC also my First Desktop AMP going from using my Audio interface or my Fiio M3 Pro. Can’t wait to hear how it sounds hopefully I didnt make a bad choice ahhaaha.
@Shiivu, as Zeos regularly says, “there are no losers here”. Everything has gotten so good you really can’t go wrong, it’s more about building an opinion about what you like and need. You’ll really enjoy these two devices! And definitely report back to the forum your thoughts on them (if you’re comfortable doing so). Great to hear more opinions.
Yup thats for sure hahaha and I defo will. Tho id have to report back on the combo haha as cant compare them individually.
Whaaa? Interesting. I did not see it anywhere (yet). Will try it!
I have, and really like, my Sanskrit 10th Mk2. As my first dac (me too), I found the kick drums and bass had a lot more authority to it than anything else I owned (AVRs, cellphones, etc). So much it “repaired” my speakers which I thought were “treble-oriented”. Not anymore.
So… one of the reasons why I wasn’t often on the forums for the last 45 days or so is… my computer monitor died. Watching everything on my phone was too boring. But I decided to upgrade and buy an HP 27F. 27 inch 1080p monitor.
A lot of the 27" 1080p monitors are like, half the price. So, why this one? Well, Linus Tech Tips reviewed a similar model and the colors were quite accurate. Rtings confirm it: “accurate colors out of the box”. I’m impressed. You know the odd feeling you get when you bought “consumer” headphones all your life and discover soundstage and imaging and suddenly everything feels “3D” and all the other headphones at the store are just flat and boring? That’s the same feeling I get now, with my monitor. I don’t know why. All the others I bought were “just monitors”, and this one has an interesting sense of depth.
Also, I had a 24" screen before. 27 feels like twice the size of my 24". I’m glad I didn’t buy a 32" or something stupid like that, lol.
