What did you buy today? (Part 1)

somehow you’ll find your placement with time
as long you don’t burn anything LOL

To actually extract the DSD layer you need a hacked PS3 to extract the good stuff. Some modded bluray players can do it too. Otherwise you will just get the regular cd layer if it’s a hybrid sacd. That being said the regular cd layer still has the same master on it so it will still sound great

I’ll try using Audacity and record a project with it and see. Don’t even have a CD player at the moment. Was scoping out a Cambridge CXC but shit… can’t buy it all some things will just have to wait.

I want that horizontal stack for our office at home
I understand your little problem

We use a 27inch and a 24 classic left and right on a 1.8m/5.9feet wide desk - not ideal … works ok
Would love to change the 24inch and get a 32inch 4k
and put the 27inch on top
my wife is everyday working remote at our home office and I get to use it for editing pictures/videos in the evening and at the weekend
So it is more her place and her ergonomics

I own the clears and they’re pretty magical.
Its a more relaxed and laid back headphone.
A little intimate which I like with my Jazz recordings.
Well built with a lot of nice accessories

If you’re looking for the exact opposite though, I would recommend the hifiman arya.
Brighter, definitely not laid back, with a larger sound-stage, built like shit and barely any accessories.

Why the elegia,
It’s literally so bad my dealer is dumping it.
Its going for 40% of msrp with a dragonfly red.
Its sad to think they could take the clear drivers and make elegia, and take the utopia drivers and make stellia. Focal just doesn’t know closed backs.

I personally don’t like the stellia, but I do like the elegia a fair bit, it’s a pretty good closed back imo. I agree they aren’t worth their msrp though

I just really really like my ce-5, and @Zaphain thankfully let me know they had a new release and I had to have one (as they are limited in units)

I picked up a Stax SR-5 Gold with a DIY SRD-7 energiser a few days ago.
Will be my first stax set. Really hard for me to source the 404-LE or Sig

Nice, curious to see what you think about them :+1:

#BlameM0N🛡️? I wonder how many 880 600 recommendations by @M0N have materialized into purchases. I count 2 right here. Lol

But their good tho lol, I still use mine somewhat often, just solid overall :+1:

Yeah they are. I bought them thinking they’d end up in their carry case most of the time, but they’re on my desk along with my other frequently used cans, just had to make some room. Lol

Hand raised🙋🏾‍♂️ #blameMon I have the black edition DT880. overall I like them. I’ve been using them the most lately. Cord is non detachable and can be used as a jump rope, other than that… They are a solid pickup

Have you reviewed them yet (or do you plan to)? Curious to see your extended thoughts

Also try them with the silver 880 pads if you can, it evens out the sound a bit more imo

Yes, I’m planning on it. I’ll likely do it soon. I’ve got to write reviews for the Dt880 , Focal listen, Archel 2.5 pro. And in PC the secret lab 2020 Omega softweave chair, and a LG wide screen…
