very curious about the tone board. hows it sound? how much did the case cost
KTB uses the 9038q2m. If you have something like the smsl su-8. For the most part, it would sound like that.

What description says is new in the box with all lit, components, cords, factory warranty along with their 45 day warranty.
Looking further into it, the boxes could have been a unit on display, etc.
But I can let you know how they are as the delivery says Monday.

This case looks good but it does not fit together correctly and a couple of the tabs broke off. But it does look cool.
This is my 1st and only DAC (stand alone). I think it clean with good separation and a touch of warmth. the warmth I hear is compared to my PS Audio Spark100. The Spark is more analytical. I need some different cables to use my Micca Origen G2 and ifi nano bl as a DAC with my 789.
The Tone Board with the 789 sounds great to me sofar. The Detail and spacious sound stage is something I do not get from my other gear.

Took advantage of the sale and bought the Meze 99 Noir from massdrop:
Its 160$ The Classics version of this headphone rank pretty high on the Master Switch website for best highend headphones. I heard these are the same sound.

The 99 Noir comes with both sets of pads I’m fairly certain

No problem
They come with two pads, the smaller ones are the ones installed and to me they have a better sound. The big ones are more comfortable but I don’t like the way they sound. I received them a week ago. Light, comfortable and fun.
From what I’ve read, the bigger pads add more bass, while the smaller pads are more neutral.
Just bought a JDS Labs Atom to go with my K3 for work audio duty.
