I have my balanced cable that I used for my e5000 (before I returned it), so I have a bit more source flexibility.

Bought the CVJ Yakumi
And 3 of the Lavender colored cable called the FLORA for $19ea Modular and looks like a nice cable and has flat 2 pin thats rare these days.
Picked up a Charge5 for the work desk and won a Uline “Lunchbox” in a work raffle, I don’t think they realize how many iems and dongle dacs I can fit it here…
lmao as if Lady Luck herself was here to stop me from my own choices, the GPU I got was borked and I’m returning it now
guess I’m supposed to wait, just gonna not play games for a while lol
guess I’ll upgrade my old ass s340 elite first then while I wait
I got a 5700xt for sub $100 and I’m just going to use that, I’m still catching up on titles from 2016 or so. I started playing Guacamelee which I love, and it doesn’t even need a GPU in its requirements
I have to say, if Titanfall2 at 1440p ultra settings, @ 90FPS (current card, not the 5700xt which is even better) is old graphics… I can’t imagine where games have reached for immersion/realism. Must be mindblowing. I hope the gameplay is keeping up…
I’m here to tell you the graphical fidelity will plateau soon but the gameplay has already reached that lol
Yeah I think I’m gonna just keep my 5700xt until the next releases, I tried reaching for that 4080 super but Lady Luck definitely gave me a warning shot lmao
That’s what I was going to say; we’ve hit such a level of diminishing returns with current gen (and even last-gen) rendering that artstyles, specific lighting engines and things like VR are basically the only routes to make something more immersive, at least until we find a way to go neural or haptic at scale.
Edit: here’s an image showing both the classic example of diminishing returns in resolution, but also how important actual meshes and use of models are.
I’ll try my best to hold out until like next gen GPU release but I’m not hopeful I’ll last that long
Like you said there’s not much left to push and I’m sure I won’t care much for it tbh. I wish I could see how AMDs next gen GPU will handle raytracing already lol
Just got an LG 34GN850-B IPS widescreen 34" monitor at Walmart for $329 and it’s amazing. Also here in Tampa mail resumed so I got a Soundblaster AE-9 and Topping A70Pro today. Going to try out all the different modes, but it’s so much better than going to two monitors for working on documents side by side.
little project I’m doing for my bedside setup…
ooooooo a K11 R2R… I like it. Have fun, brother!
Gonna have a “TV” (using a tablet?) in your bedroom?
ill post some pics after but basically ipad mounted to my hifi rack usb to dac/amp, also optical ran to the dac amp and into an optical switcher for my cd changers and tv out
Speakers stands finally here! @Sonofholhorse very impressive as I expected them to be cheap plastic but they are actually heavy metal.
It’s all about that steel, baby!
