Love minimalist shoes, never had Vivo but other models from Altra, Lems and Xeroshoes.
Fun story I have extra arch on the feet, and have had pain for 20+ years and used orthopaedic soles. It hindered me in work and activities . Some years back I started minimalist shoes and ditched the soles, no more pain and I walk for hours. Letting the feet spread out with less damping has been a blessing for me, I even run in it now and I’m 100+ kg, never any pain
Actually got some new ones delivered few days ago from Lems
Never heard of them but I prefer low/no drop shoes too so I will keep them in mind for when my wear out! My current pair aren’t especially flat but have a nice wide toebox (looks like those Lems do too), mine are from Topo.
I like my Lems for everyday wear because by minimalist standards they look “normal”. I tend to wear Merrells for exercise because the Vibram sole never wears out.
Yep, these are pretty darn good. Really enjoying them for vocals. Great all-arounders too…perhaps a bit light on bass quantity but quality is exceedingly good.
My ear anatomy must be unlucky with those. Nothing but muffled and muddy when I got to try them. a lot of on ear and over ear don’t work out maybe it’s my canal angle or something.
Oh wow that’s wild, never expected these could be perceived as muffled.
At least in this case it’s not a big Investment one must make in order to find out
Sometimes it feels like blessing and a curse when you have direct access to Taobao. This came to my mail this morning.
Had the chance to listen this afternoon.
White eartips texture is hard, mid-bassy, forward mids, smooth and extended treble.
Black eartips texture is soft, cleaner bass, mid forward, note weight a bit sharp, treble is more pronounced, cleaner sound and imaging is more pinpoint accurate.
Very minor EQ Adjustments. They sound pretty nice stock as well. Great bass extension.
Comfort is solid. I can definitely enjoy them stock, but I do like reducing the ear gain a bit to relax things and expand the sound stage a bit. Also like a bit of extra sub-bass.
To get it out of the way, if you’re expecting an upgrade from the Tea Pro, it’s not and I wouldn’t recommend it as such. Really more of a companion than anything else. While what I enjoy about the Tea Pro’s bass is carried over, the treble is much more pronounced on this set, and tip-rolling is a must. Like other accounts, the imaging is stellar. Listening to a lot of dynamic, electronic-focused/infused music on this set.
Got my Plunge Unity dynamic today after a pause at the swedish customs and have spent a few hours listening to it and this is my first impressions.
The shell is slightly smaller than the Plunge Unity stage which makes them fit even better in my ears. Isolation, comfort and ability to stay in place regardless of what you do are the best in the market in my opinion.
Looks are basically the same as the stage, functional first and the cable works very well for me.
They are easy to drive from most sources but sounded better in my home rig, but with a better dac and amp that was no surprise.
Now the sound. It wouldn’t be a Plunge if it wasn´t tuned to suit as many music styles as possible regardless if its classical, screaming metal guitars or a singer songwriter performing. It wants to step out of the way of the recording and not present all music with the sound signature. Its not bassy, don’t have a bright top end, if anything its mid forward. Every thing is there but no part takes center stage. So if you have a varied music taste this is the iem for you.

Genuinely fantastic Dac Amp.
Also the only portable dac/amp I’ve found that works over USB on PS5 that doesn’t have reduced volume issue with full DSP 10 filter PEQ. I’d recommend this over any other small dac amp dongle. Drives hd800 s with a 13 db sub bass slope without an issue. You can cycle through 10 custom peq presets directly on the device. Software is through a browser extension. You can design your filters all directly on squiglink and import them directly and save them to a profile. Very easy to use. You could also use it purely as a balanced DAC with DSP support and output to another amp. Also has built in mics that work well too that work with PS5. It’s extremely well and thoughtfully engineered. The software works flawlessly too without any lag, connection issues, or hitching. They are constantly refining the firmware and software. Highly recommend
Actually wanted to buy Gremlin but shipping to germany is 50€ and then there will also be import tax which makes it much more expensive and not worth considering anymore.
There was a noisefloor with Cadenza 12 (what i kinda expected). I changed the PSU to another one that i had at hand and now the noisefloor is almost completely gone.
For the 90€ i payed this was a really good purchase and it has got all the in and outputs i want to play arround with my other gear
hehe thanks
Any recs for affordable tubes to try rolling?
I don´t think i will do that a lot but now that I have such a device I need to at least try one tube roll even if I am very happy with the sound.
It is equipped with JAN5725W
Not familiar with those tubes unfortunately. I have only delt with 5670, 12AU7, and most recently 6SN7 tubes (in the Valhalla 3). Just be sure to double check the heater current specs of the amp, and the specs of the tubes you decide to roll. You would need to look for a matched pair (tested pair) to assure that left and right channels are at the same level.
I am still relatively new to the Tube/Valve game compared to others, but I learned to read up a lot prior to tube rolling on a new amp. Tube rolling is part of the fun of owning a Tube Amp, but I get liking the stock tubes (which I did for both Vali 3 and Valhalla 3).
Here’s info about others that are identical or compatible with 5725. Not a bunch of different models though you have space for a ‘full size’ non-shorty with the open top
