What did you buy today? (Part 2)

My Dekoni Elite Hybrid ear pads came in a few days early, and I just popped them on my Sundara’s. No pics were taken because they look almost the same as the stock pads except they are just a tad thicker on the thick end of the pad, maybe a 0.25" thicker at most. The Dekoni pads also don’t really feel all that much softer than the stock pads, BUT… So far, they are much more comfortable.

Lastly, even though the frequency response is supposed to remain virtually the same as stock, bass extension and impact do seem to have increased just a little bit, which is a good thing.

Just for fun, here’s one pic I did take, exposing the large magnetic planar driver in the Sundara’s. Nice!

I think I just realized that I am a crazy person.

I noticed this when my HD700 stock pads disintegrated in the heat last summer, upon which I promptly replaced them with Dekoni Elite Velour pads. The bass feels more firm and a bit extended, although the graph they have don’t show it, the treble also got a bump, which is quite pleasant most of the time but not always. Actually considering getting the Modhouseaudio HD700 mod kit to tame those peaks just a little bit. Would be a cheap test to see how they change.

Yeah, but my Sundara’s are only a month old, so it’s not due to worn out pads.

Yeah I only meant I noticed a change in the sound when I swapped them out, despite there being negligible difference in measurements. I guess I should have formulated myself better.

I see no crazy

hmmm is the right ear doing better now, with the new pads? I was starting to feel the same issue as you had. Perhaps I should get these as well

So far, so good. I probably need a bit more on and off time with them to see if the issue is completely resolved. I certainly hope so.

It took me a few weeks of use to break in and feel soft(er).

You might be an audiophile if…

It’s like the HiFi Guides montra:

So, i just had to try out the “Clear”, and there is a beige edition on its way from Drop.com

My old pair is going to live on at my mums place, so i can use a headset those times i drag my macbook with me visiting, and i somewhat thought it would be a good idea to have 2 different versions laying around at my house… The old pair is stock, and i only have 1 set of yaxi pads left from my yaxi order, so the question is what headset should get the yaxi treatment… the clears or the beige version im getting from drop.com

These arrived today and I want to see on what some say about it is true. By the way these are the S versions not the one with the no S. I will do a short review once I listen to more tracks with these on for today.

Also, I love the color finally something that is not my usual colors like black or blue, a change is not bad sometimes.

Nah, that’s from my Moondrop Starfields also no it’s not the stock cable of it as well. It’s pretty much a Yinyoo cable and they make good cables imo.
