LOL the boobs-mousepad.
those are stock t60rp, right? Are they worth it for the price? I always wanted to test out some fostex headphones but Argons are too expensive for me with additional shipping and customs.
Yeah Iâd say theyâre worth it. Long time comfort kind of suffers by default because of the super thick leather headband. The pads donât seal super well either, but theyâre comfortable, albeit a bit on the thin side. The bass is fast and accurate, the treble is good and very detailed, but a bit hot on some amps and songs. Theyâre crazy accurate and detailed for the price, main gripe is just some of the comfort.
The ZMF Oval Suedeâs tame the treble a bit (but doesnât butcher the details). Soundstage is slightly improved, theyâre also a bit more relaxed in the treble region and I donât feel the same kind of fatigue with them on the Hiby R5 that I normally did with the stock pads. On the Harmony Design D90 and 903 theyâre smooth audio sex for the ears. The seal is much better, the bass gets quite the lift and feels like it gives more oompfh to the whole sub- and mid-range as a result. I would assume an Argon mod would further tighten it up a bit with the internal dampening to make it more accurate.
Right now Iâm very pleased with them, going to get myself a headband from modhouse, then I can live with them without issues until they finally open up for new orders on the conversion.
Had it for a while but never got the time to do the mod:
- Base model is a pair of Sennheiser HD25 (severely overlooked in my opinion)
- 3D printed cups for faster resonance
- Matching 3D printed dome caps for aesthetics
- Mass-loading the driver and damping the cups to tighten up the bass
- Oyaide OCC cable to replace the cheapo steel stock cable
- Yaxi SpaceRay comfort pads for improved comfort and increased bass (and aesthetics)
- Yaxi headband cushion for improved comfort
Result: an easy-to-drive, on-ear closed-back bass monster that scales reasonably well with amps to unleash the bass
EDIT: this is what Space Ray means
These look all kinds of awesome. Would you ever consider building a set for somebody else? lol
haha thank you! Iâve never thought I would be asked about it but I actually donât mind doing that lol
I might have to hit you up at some point. Enjoy them! Very cool and unique.
Sounds good to me and thanks haha
Not quite right. Itâs âHigh Performance American Made Sports Car.â
Congrats on the wheels!!!
That interview was done a few months before Sennheiser announced the sale of their consumer division (including their audiophile lineup) to Sonova.

I wanted the white/silver one SO BADLY⌠:â( Could not find a store anywhere that had one, let alone a used one. WHY do they make such a cool, simple color variant, but only a few of them??!
What will the G111 be an upgrade to/for? JDS ATOM and Mojo, here.
I own an atom and a G111 and it absolutely will be an upgrade for the Atom in nearly every way. Most notably detail and texture. Iâve not heard a Mojo so canât say about SQ, but the G111 will certainly be able to drive power hungry headphones that the Mojo would struggle with.
They look very nice. You could make a lot of money by selling HD25 mods lol
Whaaaaat?! You edit the post later with a pic like itâs no big deal saying âoh BTW they also glow like they are straight out of Tronâ. You are killing me with these man!
Hi-vis headphones
The Yaxi SpaceRay looks amazing! I would totally use it as a safety feature! Take these portable at night and you wonât get hit by a car đ´ââ
Now I kinda want to get HD25 with Yaxi Pads and those 3D printed earcups. I also have Grado SR60x on my list and people say those headphones are pretty similar in some regards.
Hahaha I didnât wanna spam everyoneâs notification box, i still giggle when I look at that photo lol
