What do you use for study music?

For me it is jazz. Whether working on a project or just working in general. Specifically horn jazz, Hard Bop/Be-Bop: Miles Davis, Hank Mobley, Freddie Hubbard, Donald Byrd, Pepper Adams, etc.

Relaxes me and I just feel happier.

Anything from Hanz Zimmer. His soundtracks give me that sense of urgency I need to focus.

This got me through college:

I also used to have Music Choice’s “Soundscapes” channel running in the background while we still had the cable subscription.

This channel is good for ambient/field-recording/new age stuff:

Anything without lyrics.
That’s how I got back into Baroque music like Vivaldi, Bach or Telemann.
Something like Jon Hokpins or Mathew Jonson or John Tejada are some chill electro that work well too.

Nujabes got me though college. This was pre loFi girl era. But lo Fi hip hop the really comfortable added distortion plus noise. Plus often piano or brass often jazzy or soul samples plus the often predictable rhythms sampled from songs in the 80’s . The combination is perfect for study music. Would even listen to it during exams as they allowed for that
