What IEM as upgrade to Moondrop Blessing 2

I would like to upgrade the Moondrop with something a little bit more relaxed, 500-1000$. I currently use Qudelik 5k. I don t like treble, i m pretty sensitive, althoug with de qudelix, for classical music and most vocal jazz is ok. I would really like a complementary signature to the Moondrop.

Hmmm vocal jazz, I can only think of RSV as the best IEM for the genre. Treble is smooth and not fatiguing and really good with vocals

I´m surprised that you don´t recommend EJ07m (KL) as you also own one.

That´s a great set for Jazz and vocals with good technicalities and not too bright

Have not heard RSV to compare unfortunately

But now that i reread the first post, EJ07m might not be the best with Q5K as it really likes a bit more juice to fully open up…but still sounds pretty decent with Q5K

Actually KL was my 2nd choice as I find the vocals forward and technicals really good. But vocal presentation on the RSV is just so pleasant and heavenly on vocal jazz and slow R&B tracks :relieved:

I tend to be sensitive if there’s too much energy when it comes to jazz, and I’m a fan of decent warmth (my main focus is rhythm). My favorite IEM for jazz is the SR8. It’s an allrounder that punches way above it’s price point at 749 USD. It is a 14 BA set, but people say it has probably the closest thump to a DD out there, but with the speed of BA drivers if your jazz has double bass.

It’s balanced, fun, relaxed in the treble and it sounds BIG.
Sound Rhyme has made something special in the SR8 and their new DTE900 and I can’t recommend them enough

Almost forgot to add that the SR8 has tuning switches. Pulling the left one down makes the bass almost dead neutral (in case you don’t like bass)

well, i cant help it:ThieAudio Monarch mk3 is a beast of iem, probably i will not need to upgrade this for the next couple of years.

I use it with qudelix and mojo2 also.

Just a little with Mojo2 DSP, a couple of db’s is enough for treble sensible people. i actualy like it without any EQ.

i m thinking of getting the RSV. i also found a used - mint condition- andromeda 2020 for 550$. Would that be a better choice?

Im assuming you EQ. Mind sharing your EQ with us, so everyone gets a better image of what you are looking for?

i m using the autoeq by oratory1990

i m thinking of buying a Thieaudio Hype 2, 210$ as new from a reviewer. It would be a side step to the blessing 2. I read that Hype 2 is like a cheaper unresolving Prestige LTD.
I will settle for those now and spend +1000$ when i really listen more.

first impressions with the hype 2- very happy, definelty puts a smile on your face. I find it very different to the blessing 2 - it is very laid back, useful with vocals, jazz. Not so good of course with classical music. Fit is surpisingly good given the size.
