Now, i realize who i’m talking to here. A bunch of people who spend 100s monthly on music, audio equipment and many that spend over thousands a year on audio equipment. Maybe some have 3k worth cables and completely base the room items based off speaker placement. But think about this carefully, because assuming you choose your hearing to listen to the beautiful music you do, you won’t ever see the face of your child growing up, becoming a parent. The face of your beautiful wife will also leave, beautiful landscapes etc.Everytime you meet a new person and you become good friends you will wonder what they look like, going places will be hard etc. Are you willing to choose keeping your hearing or your sight?
Personally, as a photoggraphy AND audio enthusiast i would choose to keep my sight. I want to see the faces of my loved ones, that simple.
Depends, am I looking at my sexy girlfriend or listening to my wife
I swear I’m kidding…no offense meant, it’s the first damned thought that passed thru my mind tho…
Lol, things about to get dangerous in the house
I would want to keep my sight.
I work in film. I need both
Heyyyyyyyyy people are surprisingly picking sight! Niceeeeeee
Sight, no question. If I stopped being able to hear, maybe I’d keep my audio equipment around to look pretty. And I could save money by stopping streaming subscriptions. Might be hard, but I think I could get over it. But I think I’d just be depressed as hell if I lost my sight.
My eyesight gets worse and worse every year, i spend a small fortune on prescription grade reading glasses and some intermediates to help me when working out to arms length. I often pray my distance vision doesn’t go, too soon, that would affect my ability to shoot and drive like a bad-ass more than i’m comfortable with. I opine that hearing is subjective, can be selective, and a blessing if lost when someone is nagging you, but truly i would not want to be stuck w/only my own thoughts daily. Either way this is a shitty topic and a lose lose scenario.
Honestly I really don’t care. I feel like I would be more devastated loosing my hearing than my vision (although loosing my vision would make life more difficult obviously)
Very logical, and true lol keep the stuff to look pretty. Maybe pass some stuff to people who can actually use it
Getting older sucks, things start to happen to you that I scoffed at a decade ago when listening to my older colleagues grumbling about daily. Now i’m one of those distinguished looking gentlemen, with a streak of grey hair, and a bit of a weight problem, and i find there are some health issues that i can’t control, which really pisses me off. So yeah, this topic is real.
Edit to add; plus i don’t go to the beach to listen to the ocean, f@$% that, i wanna get an eyeful of pretty… innocent:
To be honest, I will need both. Because one, I play games and as much as possible if my video card can make a game run on Ultra settings I would do so for spectacular visuals. Two, I like downloading so many anime pictures as wallpapers and “research purposes” if you guys know what I am talking about cough Lewds cough. In terms of sounds, it’s overall self-explanatory, because freaking music! I need my hearing in order to have eargasms and appreciate fidelity that I can get from legit artists who made their art/songs with passion and soul. Also I need hearing when I watch some hentai and porn
Lol. I’m nowhere near as old
yeah i’ve heard, my parents are getting to that age now. and it’s like their body is starting to go downhill, recovery, movement everything is getting worse. Its a damn shame and honestly sad to see. my dad tho is actually doing pretty good, his side of the family always focused on excersise so maybe thats why. I’m only 21, but i’m on a different end where i actually excersised alot and ended up giving my body to my respected diciplines so my body has been falling apart too. knees, back, neck, shins, and feet
lol love it, getting some hentai action
Sight, without a doubt. Just from a disability point of view, people with hearing loss can live relatively normal lives. Blind folks require much more intervention and assistance.
I need my sight more than anything, with the sport I play and the careers I want to pursue. Losing hearing sure would be a bummer, but I am a visual learner anyways. I think losing hearing would leave me less disabled than losing sight.
I had that discussion the other day with a colleague. When im old most of my children and grandchildren will be away from me. It will be very dificult to see them as ofter as you would. But you can still phone them and talk to them. If a loved one is far away would you prefer to see them on a video call but hear nothing, or rather see nothing and hear them tell you they love you…
