What kind of music do you listen to when you need to relax or focus?

I’ve noticed music can completely change my mood depending on what I’m doing. When I’m trying to relax, I usually go for soft or chill music because it helps me calm down and clear my mind. On the other hand, if I need energy or motivation, I switch to something more upbeat.

I’m curious what everyone else listens to. Do you have a specific type of music you always go back to when you’re working, studying, or just unwinding?

Music has been known to affect our moods for thousands of years.
Good for you, that you have awareness of how it impacts you.
I was a music teacher/conductor, vocalist, combo drummer and
classical percussionist. For a time I did workshops about the impact
of music, emphasizing the importance of choosing our music more
carefully. I also worked in a hospital, using music as a tool for stress
and pain management and promoting the body’s natural healing response.
More to your point, for relaxation or pre bedtime wind down I like
quiet piano solo pieces or the slow movement of piano concertos.
Slower acoustic guitar pieces also work well.
For morning mood lifters I use bright/happy pop music and often
the third movement (scherzo) of Beethoven symphonies. (Try his 3rd.)
I encourage you to experiment and create some short 20 minute
playlists. Pay attention to how your brain/body responds…and have fun!
Here’s a couple to try, but what YOU like is importanhttps://youtu.be/ODsi0pe-Y4Y?list=RDODsi0pe-Y4Yt.

PS Mozart’s music is also often used for focus and study times..It works
