Yeah I got to try some gateron inks and they were pretty sweet
by Knockoff I mean the copies of the existing ones.
The more specialized ones realy are another subject. Maybe a bit much for someone starting their venture into mechanical keyboards.
IIRC Razer recently started selling a keyboard with optical switches. Stuff like that is super interesting to me.
It is not like you could just lubricate switches and put o-rings onā¦
Iād try one first, I have a realforce and canāt get along with it.
They are also ugly as all hell.
speaking of optical switches have you tried the wooting one? probably my favorite linear switches right now smooth AF
The steelseries magnet thingy ones look pretty interesting
I tried a realforce and it wasnāt my thing, but then my friend came out with his hhkb pro 2 type s with the BKE domes and I really want one now lol
yeah they are lI like the feel just for typing I really wouldnt game on a topre swtich
Have heared about it.
If you could map key combinations to depth, that would make coding for example much nicer.
Have not had a chance to try one (yet).
I have a varmilo capacitive switch here, and in the tester I really like it, Unfortunately they arenāt compatible with standard keyboard electronics, I might pick up a varmilo with them on, but I own so many keyboards at this point itās hard to justify.
Interesting, never knew they made a EC switch
pretty sure you can code actuation depth deadzones, and what happens at certain depths of a key press. cant confirm though I have only had the pleasure of trying one not owning one.
Thatās an article that I did for our website. We have probably 15 keyboards and a variety of the switches. It depends on what Iām doing. Iām a tactile guy so I have Zealio V2 67g lubed purple if Iām just typing. I have the Kailh Box Navy in an Erogodox I use at work. And If Iām gaming fps Iām using a GK61 with Optical Brown switches EXCEPT for the keys for FPS they are Optical silver (speed switches)
Ayyy I really like that switch, itās what I use right now the most
That is my personal favorite switch for feel. Its also the only one I actually took apart and lubed. They are in the GMMK 60%
Mine are in a RAMA M65-B and itās pretty nice for sure. Never felt like lubing mine though
Iām the traditionalist who uses a Unicomp buckling spring keyboard at home.
They are fucking great just kinda awful for gaming
Fortunately the only game I really play that depends on keyboard input is World of Warships, so⦠for that it doesnāt matter much. I was never much of a FPS person anyway.
