oh yeah…and if you buy something that a person doesn’t think was best value for your money, you face an inquisition, LoL!!!
Probably the PS console (current one and older ones before that), as in most used gear with TV.
Surround system kinda build around this but still front speakers and dual subs of course are my favorite. Those kinda tick all the check marks otherwise.
Even then when one person goes with one brand over the other and someone doesn’t like it if goes down the shutter sometimes.
I sell computers for a living…more business-esque stuff, but we have a few customers that have been dealing with our company for the 25 years it’s been around. coolest workstations I built were some AI systems, dual Xeon’s, 6x GTX 1080 Ti, 512GB of RAM and only a 128GB SSD. LoL!
Well wouldn’t all they really need a boot drive and just use their networked storage?
are you sure about that?
based on what? Price, Power, TDP, clock, FLOPS,…?
Also: Emacs Vs Vim
It depends on the component lol. I was mainly trying to say performance is less subjective in that space.
Edit: Emacs
I support M0N’s observations. upgrades are measured against benchmarks that everything can be tested against.
it’s not as complicated as audio as audio is entirely subjective while PC’s are measured but have gremlins that can cause bias. LoL!
Benchmarks can be all over the place. There are a few outlets that get it right most of the time.
Depending on workload and budget, it is very difficult to make sound recommendations.
I would not call it bias, I would call it unrefined practices.
That ones easy they should have both died sometime in the late 80’s or early 90’s.
They still live, refusing to die lol
I think it speaks for itself…
In all seriousness, I LOVE my sprout100. If i had to recommend any 1 piece of equipment to get started into “real” hifi, that would be it. It’s not the best at anything, but does great at everything. Including a quality phono preamp. I know individual pieces are all the rage these days, but the sprout100 really offers great value into the hifi world. All in a compact form with basic remote =)
Are you anywhere near ps audio? You should go and get a tour and meet Paul and his son who made the sprout, really nice and interesting people
Nope lol. But i plan on making a trip. I love manufacturing, have been working in the auto industry for a decade and the steel industry before that. The fact they do meet and greets and tours is fascinating to me =)
