I want to do some cable for my headphones and IEMs. What’s a good place to buy wires? I was looking at Aliexpress and got a little confused. Way too many options. I’m based in Europe.
The link you posted is a machine factory, I don’t see any cable there.
Also, do you know what is this reference to cables? I see this a lot at Aliexpress: 5n copper cable
, do you know what this 5n means? I know that 7n cables are crazy expensive, more than 10 dollars per meter.
It is referring to purity and the N stands for 9.
7N would be 99.99999% purity.
As @Deleeh tried to say, Thomann has cables and connectors.
I like to buy my electronic bits from Reichelt.de (Kabels/Wires, Connectors). There is also Conrad.de
The N stands for Nines, wich is a purity scale.
A cryo treated headphone cable?
People specialise in such dark arts…
“Dark Arts” might be the perfect descriptor in this case.
I’ve used cryo treated brake rotors, cutters for my mill and lathe, I might even have a rifle barrel or two that have been cryo treated.
It make sense where you have high friction and high delta heat cycling.
One could argue there may be benefits in some amplifier parts where heat cycling is an issue, but a headphone cable?
I’ve seen cryo treated tubes as well. Just seems weird.
