I’m wondering if it’s possible, in 2025, to buy a pair of wired earbuds that aren’t made in China.
I’m trying to use these with the TV audio that comes out of the treadmills in my gym, which don’t use bluetooth. So I need real analog, non-electronic, non-wireless earbuds.
And I also prefer the earbuds without the little rubber inserts that go into the ear canal. I just like the ones that hang on the outside of your ear.
I’m not even all that concerned with sound quality, I really just need something for the gym.
Is every model that fits that bill made in China?

I don’t know, cause I don’t use earbuds because they don’t fit and I often find them becoming very uncomfortable after using for several hours. that said, the IEM’s made by Beyerdynamic are likely made in Germany…or at least, assembled in Germany. I would bet there could be IEM’s made in, or assembled, in Japan, maybe even the US…like Grado and / or Etymotic Research.
why not ask Copilot or ChatGPT this question? you’ll need to cross-reference it’s accuracy, of course, but it will hep point you in the direction!
edit - alsom, Comply makes foam IEM inserts. and when you say plastic, do you mean silicon? there are different design theories, so checking them out may help you find a silicon insert that works for you.
