If he uses iPhone I would just buy AirPods again😊. I had som cheap Sonys that was perfectly OK.

AirPods or AirPods Pro if he wants ANC.

Swan aw75 if anc isn’t a priority. Seriously though best tunes tws I’ve ever heard and they are $100.
