Hi guys, stumbled across this forum whilst researching for a new headset for Xbox.
I originally had a hyperx cloudx which sounded good to me, but the mic broke and buzzed everyone complained so I bought a turtle beach 700, but hated it so sold it, then picked up the Xbox wireless headset but a) sound is muddy b) chat mixer broke…
Now I want a decent headset that sounds better. Seen a few videos of people using audio headsets with something like a boom mic, as appose to a “gaming” headset
I have a budget of about £150-200 wired is fine
I play mainly FPS/BR like warzone etc
Please drop your recommendations please
Should the HP be only for gaming or do you also want to use it for music listening ?
And if it’s only for gaming would you like a more immersive experience so bass rumble or do only want to hear footsteps and no bass for the “gaming advantage” XD
Also uncle crin just made a vid about it
Hi, they’re for gaming and need to hear detail like footsteps/direction etc
Then for this use something like the Phillips SPS 9500 would be recommended or if you can get them used the beyerdynamic tygr 300 which have better soundstage and imagining
To get it running with your controller get a splitter to have separate mic and HP inputs and get yourself a boom mic there i can’t help you too much because of lacking experience but lots of people like the mod mics but others hate them so do a bit of research on that front too
Oh yeah just as a sidenote if you want a all in one solution the hyperX cloud 2 are a decent pick even though the mic isn’t the Best
Thanks… I used to have the hyperx cloudx which I thought were really good at the time, the mic used to buzz for other players which is why they went back but they didn’t have stock so switched away to a different headset. Aren’t the cloud 2 the same as the cloudx minus the in line amp thing? The hyperx cloudx are only £39 at Curry’s, but also looking at maybe the mh751/752.
It’s direct into the controller so the shp9500 with a vmoda boom mic pro might work, but the headset is £75 plus £30 for the mic
Yeah cloud x should also be fine had only the cloud 2 on my radar XD
And I also did hear good things about 751
The best thing would be to go to a store and see which one is more comfortable for you that may make way more difference than some marginal better sound
But all in all the cooler master and hyperX are decent HP
A good HP and boom mic is more for people that like also hear music with them or want to experiment with sound
