xDuoo TA-22 White noise in the right ear

Hey, I’m new to hifi audio and I just got the xDuoo TA-22. I’m hearing some faint white noise in my headphone’s right ear phone. It fades in and out slightly without any particular pattern and the white noise’s volume doesn’t change with the volume dial. The noise also persists when I have no source connected.

Do I have a defective model or am I doing something wrong? I am using the 6.5mm jack instead of the XLR output, could that be the problem?

Appreciate any help in advance.

you can try swapping the tubes positions, if it changes from one ear to the other it could very well be the tubes.
Tubes also take some time to burn in as well and can be finicky.

I would also recommend leaving it off for 10-15 minutes after swapping tubes and before turning it back on.

Swapped the tubes, no change, the noise still exists in the right ear

I would lean towards a defective unit. IMO. if it was the tubes, switching tubes should switch which ear you are hearing it in.

Aww, alright, appreciate the help.

could just be power line noise, if you can try to plug it in on other curcuits and see if the noise changes/goes away

Didn’t see this, but I got my replacement, and it looks like it was just a defective unit, no noise whatsoever anymore
