That’s it for now.
Twilight replaced my UP for male vocals.
8SL replaced the Variations & UP.
AMT16 replaced any future interest in planar IEMs for now.
I have the same question as @Rcayn . If you wouldn’t mind, could you give us a little breakdown summary on the Goldplanars? They’re a set I just haven’t heard much about, but they definitely intrigue me. I’d like to know what they’ve got under the hood, so to speak, that puts them up with some elite company in that price range so I’d definitely appreciate any impressions you’d be down to share.
If we’re talking its most standout feature, it’s the timbre. It has this smooth/analog, but incredibly detailed aspect to the sound which is not dissimilar to most descriptions of amt ribbon speakers (I hesitate to call anything “electrostatic-like” since I haven’t heard one myself.) A lot of extension in both directions. A downside is it being very source-picky, both in power and to tamp down some of that upper treble (8k peak).
