I know you didnāt ask me, but I donāt see why owning the VOs would preclude you from owning and enjoying a pair of Atriums. The Verite and Atrium sound signatures are actually quite different when you get down to it. Obviously thatās just my opinion, but I have owned both the Atriums and the VOs and I currently still own the Atriums and a pair of VCs so I do have some experience on the topic at hand.
Picked up the caldera Ultra perfs to try on the Atriums. Have heard great things so wanted to try them out and they do not disappoint. to my ears it felt like I got much more of the 3d soundstage and feel like the vocals got much better.
I also picked up the caldera thick perfs to try as well and threw those on my Auteur Classics and turned those into base monsters. I will swap pads a little more back and forth and see where I end up. So far I am liking them more than the Universal or the Auteur pads.
How would you say the ZMF Atrium compares to the Meze Empyrean V2 and which do you think would be a better daily driver?

I just ordered the Atrium āStabilizedā. They looked very pretty. The ones I wanted sold out in less than 30 seconds after going live, so had to settle for the āOstinatoā, blues one with black and yellow accents. First time Iāve picked up such an expensive pair of headphonesā¦ most Iāve ever spent was on a used pair of Focal Clears 4-5 years ago.
I am not sure they will be worth it (lol)ā¦ but I do like the way everyone describes the sound, being more laid back with a bit more low-end than the typical open back. And at least I am now at a point in my career where they are definitely affordable for me. Though, I still feel oddly guilty spending so much money on a pair of headphones. Lol (sigh)

What tube amps is everyone running?
My next purchase will be a Yggdrasil next year, but if Valhalla 3 gets released by then I will purchase it at the same time. I am making 1 3k purchase at a time lol. If Valhalla 3 is put on the back burner for a while I will save up for a $2k + tube amp (I will see what looks good at the time).

Just recently got into tubes with the WA7 (Absolutely love the amp paired with the Aune X1s GT with āpure headphoneā filter), I was tempted to put an order in for the new Aegis, but Iām going to be responsible and hold off until next year. Itāll give me more time to research other options as well. Having already spent over $5k on gear the last month or so (reward for myself for landing a new job and been saving 
), I think Iām good for the rest of the year. Lol Already have the ZMF Bokeh on the way as well.
I also did some gaming on the PS5 with the WA7 paired with the Schiit Fullaās line out using the Focal Clears and the experience was insane (incredibly immersive). Iām looking forward to checking it out with the Atriums when they arrive.

My Atriums arrived a bit ago, and I just started listening to them. first impressions are very positive, have not tried pad rolling yet, but right off the bat, they do sound pretty darn great.
I had gotten the Be2 Suede DMS rec, and they definitely make it close to 6xx tuning, but with much better low-end (extension). My only gripe is they are shallower which is a bit of a non-starter ( I donāt like them putting any pressure on my ears, even light). Also already own the 6xx, so I think I prefer the Caldera sheep skin perf. I ordered the universe leather perf as well to try, will update impressions after that.

I ordered those Caldera pads as one of the 3 pairs as well. I will give them a try once I get my Atrium in hand.
OFC cable is stiff af, btwā¦ rec getting something third party or going for only the fabric stock type cables. Stock cables are short, though.

The brainwave pads recommended by Z reviews for these are pretty fun, I happen to have a pair on hand. If you donāt mind a pretty hefty bass shelf, Lol. Might be a tad too bass heavy for my taste (Might depend on my mood), but itās pretty cool how the sound on these changes with different pads.
