£1000 Gaming Pc Build

The B450 isn’t completely compatible with the Corsair 680x case apparently

Where did you see that? Since it’s a standard atx size board from what I can see, so should be fine with the 680x.

Also I’ll appreciate any help on choosing the ASUS PRIME Z390-a / x-470-pro

Apparently they are just AMD/Intel equivalents of eachother but are they good boards? They match really well with my planned setup

Ahh I didn’t realise that the front headers were usb 3.2, yeah the boards you mentioned look good.

This is a build I made, as you can see… it’s high over my budget, I reckon I can get to around a £1200 ish budget, maybe £1300

the case bumps up the cost a lot but the case matters a lot to me haha

I’m not able to see it via that link, it just takes me to a default view?

Just accidentally deleted it… AHHHH

What can you guys do if I set the budget to under £2000? I might make a new thing for this as My budget rose a little from £1000 lol, £1600 is fine but £2000 might be possible

Don’t overspend.
While 1k is a little tight, 1200 should be fine.

Value of parts (build) goes down pretty fast. It’s good to keep it in mind.
The mentioned parts / build combinations are pretty decent for value.
I would also stay between the original 1-1,5k, last one being the max.

Depends on the workload and what you want to achieve.
For a simple office box, $400 (without monitor and Windows license)
Simulation tasks, you are looking at server gear in the >$10,000 range

Was thinking should i mention “it’s pretty simple to calculate what you need. when you know what”.
But since not much was mentioned.
Yea, own datacenter is also possible but numbers need to go way bigger.

I’ll make a build and show it here, the only reason why I’m saying £2000 and lower is because I’m taking into account me having an expensive case and RGB stuff :))

I’m using the computer for streaming, gaming and work!

What about this build so far? I might make some changes but this is where I’m at

The only part of the PSU you will see on this case is the back grill where the power cord plugs in, which is typically facing the wall. You can get a Corsair 650w gold rated (which is still over double your recommended power requirements) for half the price.

Dropping to the 3600x or 3600 processor previously recommended would get you enough headroom to up to a 2070 Super graphics card, which would potentially give you a bigger boost in performance as @MazeFrame pointed out earlier.

If you drop the PSU and CPU down to a 3700x you would be within 50$ of your current budget and still be able to get a 2070 super in white it looks like. 3700x vs 3800x is less than 1% difference and many people prefer the power specs on the 3700x (lots less rated wattage for close enough to the same performance that you would have to benchmark to tell the difference).

With that budget, there’s no way I’d be happy with a 2060 super myself  I know a few of these components dont fit the theme of having as much white as possible, so some could be swapped out as required. There are a couple things I would change, was just to give an idea of price from one site (ebuyer) but you can shop around for things like the motherboard, but I wouldn’t spend 2.5x the cost just for usb 3.2 support and it to be whiter, you can add this in yourself if you really want to. You’d also want to change the PSU I put there, since that one’s a small formfactor unit, I was just using it as a placeholder for price.

Windows 10 can be got online for around £30 or less when you look around for it, and as mentioned before, I wouldn’t pay extra for a white PSU (unless it comes with white cables) when its gonna sit in the back compartment of the case completely hidden.

Also, it seems to have taken the case out of the basket, so the cost would be roughly £1848. I knew that for £1600 something had to be missing… :joy:

The white PSU comes with white cables that are pretty decent quality, I don’t know if it comes with all the cables I need, I’ll have to check!

I’ll play around with everything then and see what I can make
