Also guys is it worth getting the Ryzen 7 3800x over the Ryzen 7 2700x when paired with the Gigabyte GeForce rtx 2070?
The Ryzen 3000 series is really good, I’d say it’s definitely worth the money over the 2000 series, 3700x is probably the better price to performance when compared to the 3800x.
I use the 3700x in my system along with a 2080ti, it does me very well

This is nearly my final build, what do you think guys?
Looks pretty good, way to double your budget
Yeah I might actually try and reduce it to £1700 ish
What could i possibly reduce to make it cost less, is it worth getting a gigabyte 2060 instead of the 2070? And should I go back to the Ryzen 7 2700x? I also moved the storage to 2tb but I think 2tb is a good amount of storage that lasts a while
Main two I’d suggest are motherboard and maybe a 1tb ssd with a 2tb hdd, you’d end up with more storage and just need to manage what you put where really, most played games are what I put on my ssds.

Here is my edited build
I just took out the windows (I’m gonna but one from Amazon on a USB because I won’t have an optical drive)
And I changed the SSD to 1tb as that will last me until I need to upgrade!
So in reality it’s about £1900 I’m spending, how does it look to you guys? Any bottlenecks? Components work well together?
There always is a bottleneck.
You can’t have it all. Jack of all Trades in computers fall very short in something.
Looks good.
Actually, drop the 3800x down to a 3700x. Performance between the two is often margin of error.
Yeah I just saw my GPU is slightly underpowered compared to the CPU but I think it’s overall a decent PC
Still willing for more people to give their opinions tooooo
I currently play on Xbox and it’s gonna be a big jump to PC lol, might not use it for intense gaming straight away but I will still use it
I agree with this, might as well just go for the 3700x, they’re pretty much identical and you will save a little money. Looks good though
I wouldn’t worry about the thermal paste, the CPU cooler will come with some on it which is fine for your CPU choices. Aftermarket is good for overclocking but AMD has already pushed these chips to the point of no returns for OCing.
I wouldn’t agree with this at all You should always add that little bit of paste to the processor. Just don’t glob the hell out of it. Just my opinion.
I’m kinda confused, I saw someone in a YouTube Install the H100i without thermal paste as they said it had some already.
Do I need thermal paste??
And is there any more issues with my build?
Usually most coolers will come with thermal paste pre applied on them, so you should be fine.
I’d say its handy to keep some thermal paste on hand just incase you need to reapply the cooler if you have any issues and need to reseat the cpu (this most likely won’t happen but just incase).
Nope, all good from the factory.
Oh awesome! I was questioning why you’d add more thermal paste when it’s already applied… I know it can cause more harm than good hah!
I’m getting excited to order all the stuff, just doing final checks and stuff, I’m not buying any better cables or extenders yet and I’m just gonna use the ones that come with everything but I’m the future I’ll probably get better cables.
So I can connect the Node pro from the 3 Corsair fans to the RGB controller in the case and sync up the RGB that way?
Coolers come with thermal compound pre-applied but for PC enthusiasts who want to achieve improved temperatures at stock speeds, it’s a good idea to buy and apply new paste when installing their CPU. This is because the pre applied aren’t as potent as some of the out of the box thermal paste tubes. Not all thermal paste are the same and some will dry up quicker while others whille help the heat better. While it is technically fine out of the box you won’t get the best results. It will boil down to whether you want the best cooling over the next course of a few years. It’s not, “needed” but it does help. Though not sure why one would want H100i outside of the fanciness when Noctua NH-D15 air cooler has been proven to be better by some degrees it’s just bigger yet cheaper
I have that Noctua in Chroma Black and it’s huge. Had ram clearance issues if I tried to use all four slots, couldn’t use a second fan (not that it was needed) with just two slots of ram.
Thermal paste isn’t hard to apply and you can always do better, but for a first time build and already overspec cooling, you won’t notice any performance issues with the stock options. You’ll have piece of mind that isn’t the issue if you have a failure to boot. I’m had a split second “oh shit too much / little paste!” but then I realize I didn’t toggle the switch on the PSU lol.
yeah thats why I said its bigger. There is the Darkrock pro 3 or 4 which helps with the clearance yet has practically the same results, they actually cut out a portion of the metal to help fit the ram in so there isn’t clearance issues really neat actually. I personally use the Noctua NH-D15 it is definitely massive and I added Chromax covers to it to kinda make it look a lot better lol. Performs very well it just takes quite a bit of space in the case.
Yeah, out of the box stock you won’t notice anything till later on. That’s why I mentioned while its not needed it definitely is a proven help later down the road. Kind of a future proof option. I always add it to my installations but then again, I have built over 13 pc’s you tend to get used to how much it too much after a while lol. Definitely bad to overkill that paste.
I personally love my Noctua, though I wouldnt recommend it if you truly want the smaller fancier approach of which the H100i is fine… I just get a little worried with water cool stuff as with a fan you can easily replace that its also easy to diagnose whats going on cause you notice oh hey… my fans not spinning… water cool units are pricey when they break down and sometimes hard to diagnose

Actually removed one of the fans from the setup due to case constraints… but it works perfectly fine. Going to switch to the black noctua chromax fans instead of that one there in the center
