Some of my āchannel imbalanceā turned out to be hearing imbalance. Have you tested this on other gear? Thankfully EQ can compensate for this aswell

Listening to a song on my KZ ZS7 sounds perfectly balanced. On my Timeless it sounds like right side treble is recessed but left side is sparkly. Like they completely threw trying to match similar response units together and just throw random left and right pieces into the box
edit: if I shove the right as far in as I can manage and barely sit the left in my ear the channel imbalance is way less noticeable but thatās still pretty wrong isnāt it

ok so my channel imbalance adventure continues withā¦ trash quality mmcx cable with mic that I was using on my Shure SE215.
I was playing around with my audio devices with 1 side in trash cable and 1 side in stock cable and I turned on the listen to the mic function in the mic driver and I noticed that some of the background sound was playing on the side connected to the trash cable but not audible on the side in the stock cable.
after connecting both to the trash cable the right side sounds brighter somehow? could equally be a placebo effect but the channel imbalance is also much less noticeable now. This Timeless is a whole bag of worms
edit: ok switching 1 side back does seem to have an audible effect on sound but again could just be placebo. I have no fking clue if what Iām doing is helping at all and I was also considering a JCALLY JC20 for the 3 button inline mic and the pretty blue cable but idk if I should attempt a return or try to fix my imbalance more. Also im worried about the durability of swapping cables too much

This is more of a planar flaw than a timeless flaw. But yes, this is the primary reason the timeless didnāt retire my Zen.

Hifigo will be sending me a new unit. Had to pay for the shipping, which I guess is fine, not optimal since iāve had to had a fair few items replaced recently, but I guess there is no way around it.
Will be enjoying mostly earbuds (RY4S+ on currently) until I get refreshed. Different vibes!

man u right a day later and my channel imbalance is practically gone. Its nuts just this morning I was trying to eq it away but now the eq is totally useless and it just sounds great. Also some sounds were weird at the start but those are also way down.
This iem is just weird but Iām happy I donāt have to return it for horrible imbalance

So are you putting a filter in to catch the ācrudā before it reaches the metal filter?
Or are you replacing the stock filter with it?
I think I just missed part of this convo, probably during the period when I was still trying to convince myself to spend $230 on an IEM ( Starfield was my expensive one before this, so that was jump ).
I had a weird almost sibilant peak around 8k, that vanished between yesterday morning and today. I EQād it out, and realized now it was too recessed, cleared the EQ now it is fine. note - mine got delivered two days ago.
I have never seen burn in make a difference in an IEM. Donāt get me wrong pads on headphones get better, both for seal and comfort, with some use, but that isnāt burn in.

Planar drivers usually need burn-in. The timeless is a gift that keeps on giving. My timeless is getting better and better the more I listen to it.

Brain burn-in is another real non-āburn-inā burn-in.
But I guess the talk about the timeless burn in will soften the initial disappointment for me

Made an order with Linsoul, non-express shipping. Iām still not 100% sure why Iām dong this as Iām still excited and charmed daily by the Aladdins, I have no wants ā itās just that time of year, where you might as well get things way lower than their usual vaule.

Ok so for 1111 I think Iāll settle on Timeless or LZ A7. Anyone can do this comparison?
Change of tips can affect the perceived high frequency peak. The difference of insertion depth changes the ear canal resonance frequency.

I have been cycling through the same 3 tips for the last two days.
I am trying to figure out which of the three I like the most on it.

Final Audio Series E
Acoustune AET08 ( these are the dark blue tips that come with it, the wider bore in white are the 07 ).
I am pretty torn on this, but I am not not hearing that peak on any of those 4, including the 07, which I put in for a while just to double check.
