šŸ”¶ 7HZ Timeless Planar

Can you recommend guys a portable dac amp over 1000mW power and around 300$ for Timeless ? I saw the tri tk2 but i find it too bulky.

XD-05 Balance is your best bet if you can find it on sale.

Everything will be bulky with all that power, by the way.

they say that sound quality is the same as the tk2. what’s the difference though ?

Bluetooth, you can amp roll if you wish to. Better outputs.

I avoided tri tk2 because it’s their first amp…

there is no alternative 1000mW+ dac without bluetooth ? I don’t use bt

Not that I’ve tried. Topping nx7 is my favourite amp for clear signature, but you gotta use something as dap (like apple dongle).

I have the e1da 9038s, fiio ka3 and the acmee magic sound4 on the way

sold my tea’s a couple days after getting my timeless… the only things tea would be better at is the dynamic driver bass and maybe better imaging

For the dynamic driver bass try make a 35-48 hours of burn.

You don’t need 1000mw imo, I just bought the ifi hip dac 2 and it drives my P1’s (which are harder to drive than the timeless) pretty well and sound amazing with xbass on.

Poor separation… that’s hard to believe?

I don’t know .For someone this headset is the non plus ultra. Is it a moron in headfi who sold all your 1000$+ iems like the Mest and bought three pairs of Timeless
Then ! he spent hundreds of dollars on cables to perfect the sound :star_struck:
Everyone knows that the Timeless sounds ridiculous without eq . However, it responds shockingly well to the eq. I hope the over 1000mW amps gives enough bass and body for the Timeless.

The stock tuning is pretty close to my ideal, but I am a fan of their bass elevation and the transition into the mids. Everyone’s tuning preference is different, and while I have a hard time thinking that Timeless is better than MEST for someone, that is probably a lack of imagination on my part.

That said, I would never sell all of my other IEMs. I have two pairs coming in the mail, Tin T3+ and KZ CRN, and I still like a nice pair of open back for sound stage ( I have the HE400se on right now, and testing a new balance cable on them ). There is a reason that we all should have a collection. I like to change things out, and try different gear for different types of music, music, and gaming.

You know what’s funny? Waking up one day and suddenly not having any need to use EQ on anything (except the broken sounding FH3 I need to sell).

After all this obsessing with EQ I’m suddenly fine without it.

And yes Timeless is great and yes it’s a step above Starfield and ER2SE and yes while it’s his subjective list, the spot on Crincle’s list is totally deserved and justified (A, A tuning, A technicalities).

Impressive depth of the lows on first listen. Highs are more controlled than I would expect from the FR graph. Nice, ā€˜liquid’ (Shure-like I might say) midrange presentation. Good transparency and stage.
But I’ll suspend judgment until after I burn them in.

Fit is a bit of a problem, for me with timeless: i’m pretty used to deep insertion with iem, and the shape of this thing prevents that kind of insertion.

I have to stick with shallow insertion, then, but here my ear shape comes in play and mess things up: I definitely have an asymmetrical thing there, so I have to find a different size for each side…

For now I stick with the ā€œnormalā€ default tips (M on left, L on right). I tried the other tips, but they gave the shape too much of a V FR.
Same thing with cp145.
The cp100 tips though fit this set well, regarding sound signature.

I use cp100 with it. Best fit for me. Havent tip rolled much as I didnt find the need

I little better with Sennheiser IE Pro tips for me.
Though spinfits are fine the Sennheiser tips have a wider opening to the ear canal which helps the highs with more detail.
Still tip rolling though. Not sure what’s the best sound wise.

I’m stuck on either JVC spiral dot and Azla Crystal.
