I have been in touch with Dudo on AliX to get the timeless for 170 USD. I havenāt placed the order myself, but the process is simple: Contact Dudo directly, say you heard about the 170 USD deal for the Timeless from Head-fi. The seller might ask you to order then cancel or donāt pay, but if you donāt want to go through this, you can also ask for a unique payment link.
Again, I havenāt tried this, but others have managed to get this deal (see Timeless Head-fi thread).
Thanks man! It would still be $20 more than sale + $50 discount, but then I could use the $50 on something else $100. Iām just not seeing anything Iād want to. Still frustrated about the Hekili.
EDIT: Iām starting to wish Iād never jumped on the card. Iām still only on the fence about trying the Timeless, Iād only really be doing it to make use of the card. I wonder if itād be worth selling the code on to someone who has $100+ plans at Linsoul. Obviously that discussion wouldnāt take place here if so.
I donāt have Buds Pro, but Galaxy Buds Plus have much better bass impact/slam/rumble than Timeless. This isnāt unique to the Buds Plus, it seems to be the biggest disadvantage of Timeless in comparison to any decent dynamic driver.
got fed up with my channel imbalance and took to tone generator and peace to balance it myself and hooo boyyy thats some wacky balancing
used graphical eq for better granular control
Some of my āchannel imbalanceā turned out to be hearing imbalance. Have you tested this on other gear? Thankfully EQ can compensate for this aswell
Listening to a song on my KZ ZS7 sounds perfectly balanced. On my Timeless it sounds like right side treble is recessed but left side is sparkly. Like they completely threw trying to match similar response units together and just throw random left and right pieces into the box
edit: if I shove the right as far in as I can manage and barely sit the left in my ear the channel imbalance is way less noticeable but thatās still pretty wrong isnāt it
ok so my channel imbalance adventure continues withā¦ trash quality mmcx cable with mic that I was using on my Shure SE215.
I was playing around with my audio devices with 1 side in trash cable and 1 side in stock cable and I turned on the listen to the mic function in the mic driver and I noticed that some of the background sound was playing on the side connected to the trash cable but not audible on the side in the stock cable.
after connecting both to the trash cable the right side sounds brighter somehow? could equally be a placebo effect but the channel imbalance is also much less noticeable now. This Timeless is a whole bag of worms
edit: ok switching 1 side back does seem to have an audible effect on sound but again could just be placebo. I have no fking clue if what Iām doing is helping at all and I was also considering a JCALLY JC20 for the 3 button inline mic and the pretty blue cable but idk if I should attempt a return or try to fix my imbalance more. Also im worried about the durability of swapping cables too much
Hifigo will be sending me a new unit. Had to pay for the shipping, which I guess is fine, not optimal since iāve had to had a fair few items replaced recently, but I guess there is no way around it.
Will be enjoying mostly earbuds (RY4S+ on currently) until I get refreshed. Different vibes!
