Can you compare with the Xelastecs ?
I havenāt really focused on sound differences between them. Fit wise the xelastec mold to your ear and can be really good for long term sessions. But I prefer other things if I am going in an out all the time. Crystal donāt mold but when they fit they fit really well. Xelatec are more grippy than crystal. Crystal is about as grippy as cp100+ and everything else is less grippy.
For in and out I like cp145 or other spinfit. Too grippy becomes irritating.
The SpinFit CP100 (4mm) fits fine, you just have to wiggle it on. Itās not a problem. CP145 also fits fine, itās only 0.5mm wider, it is slightly easier to get on. I have tried both of these, they definitely fit fine. Currently I have Xelastec on which are only 3.6mm but also fit fine.
You donāt typically want a tip that is too loose, or it will come off in your ear. If CP500 donāt come off, they should be fine too. I donāt have these.
Timeless nozzle diameter is 5.3mm (lower) / 6.2mm (lip).
I concur with @Dynamic with the Xelastec, the fit is very good with them, but they are slightly more work to put in or take out. Nowhere near the level of foam, but more than SpinFit.
There are much hype about 7hz Timeless.
Which are your impression about it? Better than Mangird Tea??
Lots of hours in and 2 things Iāve found out about Timelessā¦
- 1 Even with good fitting tips, tips can make or break this set.
- 2 Sources do matterā¦this set can scale well with a good non-expensive source match to well beyond itās asking price.
Gets my 2021 bargain award set
I preferred my timeless and ended up selling my teaās but some people might prefer the teaās
The clean sound the Timeless can provide is truly incredible. What would be the best DAC/Amp combo to run this set with?
I have a video comparison in this thread comparing tea, dusk and timeless. Check that out.
In soundstage tea is better
have you tried the ifi go blu or the hip dac 2 with them? If so did you think scaled well with them or do you need better gear?
Had the Timeless for few weeks now. It replaces my daily driven OH10. To my ears, both sound really close with the Timeless performs almost all aspect better than the OH10, except the low end.
No sorry I havenāt but they should work okā¦folks say the Timeless is easy to drive but I donāt agree theyāre slightly easier than a P1 and around the same as a Z1R so not that easy and they do seem to perform better with more power.
I have tried the go blu. I found the Qudelix to be a much better match. The go blu was a hard miss across the board for me, so even if it sounded better to me, it wasnāt going to stick around. As with everything, your results may vary.
I have one of those in transit too
I am still swapping a bit on the ear tips, my favorites are the Acoustune AET08 ( the blue ones that came with it ), the Spinfit CP100+, and the Final Series E. I think in that order, which would make it the first one that came with a best pick ear tip for me, which is a pleasant surprise.
lol, I really enjoy the speed and technical precision of the Timeless, but the Mele is my goto IEM and my standard āgo get this oneā. I am looking forward to the getting the blue one, and I even ordered a Xinhs cable for it on 11.11 ( the blue 8 core rainbow ).
What made it a miss?
From that comment I am guessing the sound was similar to the Qudelix 5K. Since 95% of this space is pretty close, and it is really did they screw up the noise floor.
I thought Go Blu had more power, so were the controls bad or weird?
I knew it wasnāt super popular like the BTR5 or 5K, but I donāt know if I every understood why, beyond the price point, and the fact that most of us have 2.5mm balanced gear already.
Technical issues, lack of features, falling behind qudelix on implementation quality and, yes the noise floor.
The headphone that really sold the idsd micro signature sound to me is the dunu zen. Unfortunately, the Zen is basically useless on the go blu. So, I canāt even comment on if it has ifiās house sound. It definitely has noise though. Even the timeless has a subtle noise floor on it.
5mw at most. And my guess, when graphed/tested, Qudelix 5k will beat it. The Qudelix drives stuff it doesnāt have any right to drive. Especially if you run it wired on a full source (not an iPhone. it seems to draw more power that way).
The rest of my headphones didnāt care at all which one I used. And given the BT deficiencies, feature loss and general lack of future proofing for other sensitive IEMs, I call it a miss.
I was really excited because I have been wanting ifi house sound in my life again. This just wasnāt it for me.
What were you thoughts with the bass and 3D/Stage affects on the go blu when paired with the 7hz?
Ameno.
My 2nd set arrived today and theyāve definitely changed the filter and tip packaging.
Also received my Monarch mkiiās and whilst Iām not suggesting the Timeless is a better iem, it does show just how damned good it is cos it holds its own surprisingly well.
