šŸ”¶ 7HZ Timeless Planar

Looking forward to hearing it. (and also seeing how much bass boost it can handle :smiling_imp:)

The Blessing 2 is on my rec list because it is quite neutral (little emphasis on bass or treble) and a very good technical performer, especially for its price point. In a sea of IEMs that are tuned with elevated bass, it is refreshing to have a great alternative to that norm in the Blessing 2.

The Blessing 2 also comes with issues. #1 being itā€™s shell and nozzle size. It is just about a perfect fit for me, but there are many that have issues with the fit of the Blessing 2.

The Blessing 2 sounds a bit artificial vs some other IEMs. It doesnā€™t sound bad but there is a strange tonality to the Blessing 2. Poor timbre vs most single DD sets.

If youā€™re looking for an IEM with some enjoyable low end emphasis, I would not recommend the Blessing 2. The Blessing 2 actually sounds to me like it presents more bass than its graph depicts but anyone wanting some bass emphasis should look elswhere.

Will be interested to hear your thoughts on timbre and ā€œnaturalityā€ when youā€™ve had time to assess properly.

What youā€™re saying about tonality, speed, detail, clarity, response etc all sounds good to me so far as someone whoā€™s looking for something to possibly replace the Aonic 5, or at least complement it for other genres of music or mood.

@Resolution how much power are you working with?

Please keep in mind, I think Iā€™m being really hard on the the Timeless. In general, I enjoyed listening to them a lot and kept having two reactions while I was working on other things and just enjoying listening to themā€¦

ā€œthereā€™s really not much Iā€™m finding wrong with these to complain about or even mentionā€

ā€œwho wouldnā€™t be happy listening to these?ā€

Looking at Mele and Timeless sitting on my desk to the side of me, I ask myself what my other IEMs bring to the table with huge price tags above these IEMs? As more and more amazing IEMs with small price tags enter the ring, Iā€™m finding it more and more difficult to justify anyone spending so much money on the super high end unless youā€™re stupid like I am.

my reaction after hearing kilobucks. words of wisdom.

Guys, wanna know the best way to get an upgrade on your favourite iems?

Demo expensive stuff then come back and think with your wallet and not your addicted brain :person_shrugging:

I have all the clean power in the world and am driving with ridiculously analytical desktop gear.

16/24 bit flac files - USB Audio Quest Forest - Topping D90SE DAC - Mogami gold XLR - Topping A90 Amp - 7Hz Timeless.

I have a bunch of mobile amps that I can test Timeless on and see if it falls apart with less power. Good test!

Unfortunately the new tips get to wait for next week to keep a bit over $100 in the bank for gas and incidentals. Bills were more then I was anticipating. I did find my OG spiral dots. On my FiiO M5, going past 40 (out of 60) gets a little too loud.

Man, take care of your finances first, this is just an hobby!

A certain TOTL guy wont like what you guys are saying lol.

Thatā€™s why Iā€™m leaving those for next week. Leave me enough for food at gas and Iā€™ll re-evaluate the situation next week.

Good thing that guy likes meā€¦ Somehow.

Itā€™s the truth tho. I can justify 600-700, but I wont rec anything over that. Itā€™s too much money for marginal stuff.

Can you explain this a bit more, what is the imaging like on these?

I am going to take a wild guess and say itā€™s typical planar imaging which can seem a bit funky/different but would love to hear a bit more about the imaging.

Also, how would you compare these with the Teas?

These seem to be more what I was looking for in a set over the Teaā€™s, but would love to hear your thoughts on the comparison between the two.

For me, Iā€™d be just as happy if not happier listening to Mele vs my Clairvoyance and the Clairvoyance shell is uncomfortable. Mele is simply a joy to wear and listen to.

Same with Timeless. Iā€™d have no issues listening to Timeless especially for metal. It was able to replay the metal genre exceptionally well. It might not be the heaviest hitting IEM with the best imaging but itā€™s detail, resolution and clarity are outstanding along with its tonal balance and speed.

How is the soundstage? On the bigger or smaller side?

Yeah I realised that when comparing the Aonic 5 and SE846. There is obviously a difference but for me the difference is personal taste. The 846ā€™s had more bass presence but lacked overall involvement & extension. Other people will think differently.

The Aonic 5 has average dynamics and average soundstage but imaging is superb. It sounds like Timeless is perhaps there or thereabouts. Iā€™m just looking for something with a touch more ā€˜realismā€™ but Iā€™m not fond of the hybrid idea. Iā€™ll do my own comparison when mine arrive and offer my thoughts.

If the m5 can push them as loud as they should go(for what Iā€™m comfortable with) at about 67% and are rated at >42mW 16 ohm, and these are 14.8 ohm, 104db sensitivity, Iā€™m doubtful theyā€™ll have a problem

Its not about volume though.

Some hybrids have the ability to have pinpoint imaging where musical events can pop out at you from the stage with pinpoint accuracy.

In contrast, some single DD IEMs donā€™t do this type of encompassing stage and imaging at all.

For instance the Sennheiser 600 series headphones have little to no pinpoint imaging. The imaging points on those headphones are known as blobs. Completely undefined.

I need more time with the Timeless to be able to form my opinions about it and accurately describe it properly. Please remember these are still very early impressions that I just sat down to toss out to you guys because I know you guys want them and Iā€™ve promised them. But I need more time to be able to do a good job listening to the Timeless with many different genres of music. I havenā€™t even run through any of my test tracks. All I can say right now is that I very much enjoyed my time with Timeless last night and would tell any of you not to hesitate to place an order for your own. Itā€™s unique in a very good way. I think most of you will really enjoy it and itā€™s not at a price that will break the bank either.

Granted, Iā€™m not at the house, so I canā€™t do a direct comparison, but Iā€™m not really hearing a loss in fidelity.
