Oh, man. I do love me a Handel aria. I liked this so much I just bought and downloaded a hi-res FLAC version of the album and mmmmm…yeah. Chef’s kiss.

This was excellent. The lady that is down stage right (Ms. Moore, perhaps?) can flat out play. I actually spent the rest of the session last night enjoying this group playing the Four Seasons on my new HD660 S phones. What a great experience!

I did notice that the musicians move around so that other artists get their turn up front. I think that is cool. A nice way to showcase the talent, and there is plenty of it here.

I was in the car on the way in to work this morning and was delighted to hear a piece from the movie “Up”. It was “Carl Goes Up”. I had forgotten what a beautiful score this was. And a pretty damned good movie, too.

I am gonna search for this tonight…

She’s so damned good.

I hope you’re enjoying your 660s as much as I am.

I recommend her Sibelius concerto and her Beethoven concerto, both easy to find on youtube.

Her latest Paris album is exceptional, but it’s so good to watch someone like this perform.

I am, Sir! It’s only been one day but so far they are quite the surprise. Amazing clarity and detail with just enough bass and mid-range authority. And I imagine they will get even better as they settle in.

I wish I could do something–anything–half as well as she plays.

That’s why I like them better than my HD600 and HD650, and also the DT 880, i.e. that combo of bass (but not too much!) and clarity…and great imaging. More bass than the 600 and more clarity than the 650 (also better quality bass than the 650). And people don’t say enough about how comfortable they are over long periods of time.

No Senn. “veil” on the 660s? I am bothered by that on the 58x and 6xx, but that’s a different price level.

love how she seems to be paying attention to the other musicians, you can see her moving in time with them when she joins in, she seems to understand it’s not just about her part but about the whole, and that’s what makes her interpretations so much more deep and sympathetic.

I associated the “veil” on the 650 with that weird thick sound that makes things murky. There’s none of that on the 660s. It’s quite clear unless I A/B it with my Etymotics, which raise clarity to an unprecedented level. I think the 660s are as clear as my DT880 only a tad less bright but in a good way, for the 880s were fatiguing.

As for price, you can get 660s used for $300 and even less. To my ears the extra $100 over the 6xx was worth it. The full $500 MSRP is another matter…at that price I’d stretch for an Elex.

This is extraordinary. To be frank, I can’t playing this music any more or less than I can fathom writing this music. She’s amazing. Bach surely is smiling at her from above.

I think this is now my favorite Bach aria. Starts at about 1:07.

@dcofficehack Agreed. And memorizing! (And remembering, lol) Thanks.

Wow. Very nice. Such an interesting instrument she is playing. The tone that comes out of that thing is amazing.

I’ve long been in love with Khatia Buniatishvili but now I learn she has an equally beautiful and talented sister and wow. This music by the way works as an allegory for 1914 Europe. Smooth and beautiful but then increasingly unbalanced and then bang.
